Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Lied About Archie’s Birth
Following the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, Harry has spoken about his strained relationship with the media in recent years, and Meghan has also filed a High Court privacy lawsuit against the Associated Newspapers for revealing contents of a personal letter to her father.
Royal historian and biographer Robert Lacey explains in his new book, Battle of Brothers: William and Harry – The Inside Story of a Family in Tumult, that Harry and Meghan were less-than-honest with the press (and, by extension, the masses of royal fans around the world) when it came to announcing Archie’s arrival.
Despite the fact that Archie was born at 5:26 a.m. on May 5, 2019, the Palace did not announce the birth until 2 p.m. that afternoon. Furthermore, when the Palace did make an announcement, it was a false one, implying Meghan had just gone into labor when, in fact, she and Harry were already at home with Archie at the time.

The decision infuriated Harry’s older brother, Prince William, who had followed a long-standing royal custom of introducing each of his children to the public within hours of their birth. However, Harry and Meghan made a strategic decision to deviate from the norm. Their great need for privacy, according to Lacey, stemmed from Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.
They believed that residing in LA would safeguard their privacy, but there were apparently a number of continuous instances with drones photographing them inside their temporary house, and the Sussexes are alleged to have taken action against reporters who photographed their baby without their permission.
Lacey, who works as an advisor on Netflix’s The Crown, claims that the statement indicated Meghan had only recently begun labor when, in reality, the new royal mother was already at home with baby Archie.
“Harry and Meghan were resolute that their newborn baby’s first sight of the world should not be the same insane and lethal camera-flashing that had attended — had actually brought about — the death of Diana,” he said.
According to Lacey, William’s dissatisfaction with the Sussexes’ birth announcement is the reason he did not meet his infant nephew for more than a week.
“The Queen, Prince Philip, Charles and Camilla all turned up within hours to coo over the baby,” Lacey continued.
And it seemed odd that when the Cambridges eventually arrived more than a week later, they didn’t bring George, Charlotte, or Louis to see their new cousin.”
It comes after Charles previously expressed his disappointment at not seeing Archie for “over a year” after Harry and Meghan departed Britain for the United States.
“He has missed much of his development since he is now growing up in the USA.”
According to the insider, Charles, who is a highly engaged grandfather, isn’t the only member of the royal family that feels like they’re losing out on seeing Archie grow up.
