When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry didn’t get their way, they allegedly “blamed staff”

After leaving the Royal Family and relocating to North America, the couple’s relationship with Harry’s father, Prince Charles, deteriorated.

According to an insider, Harry, 36, was irritated and disappointed after attempting to talk with Charles, 72, and the Queen face-to-face regarding his intention to depart but being blocked by Royal aides.

According to The Sun, the couple “blamed staff when they didn’t get their way”

“[Charles] ploughed money into the wedding and into Frogmore [the couple’s Windsor home] and did his utmost to make them feel financially supported,” a source told the Telegraph, “but then when they said they were upping sticks, he had less and less inclination to take calls”

During their explosive tell-all with Oprah Winfrey in March, Meghan and Harry both revealed strained relationships with their fathers.

Following their public spat in the run-up to her wedding, Meghan said she had “lost my father,” Thomas Markle, and Charles ended up walking her down the aisle instead.

This tender moment marked a turning point in Charles and Harry’s relationship, as their connection had not always been so deep.

When she first entered the Firm, the Duchess of Sussex was credited with getting Harry and Charles closer together.

In a BBC documentary in 2017, Harry expressed his admiration for his father for the first time in public, saying, “He was there for us [after Diana’s death]; he was the one out of two left and he tried to do his best and to make sure we were protected and looked after.”

“It is thought this was done with Meghan’s encouragement, after the American former actress stressed the importance of Harry remaining as close to ‘the one parent you have left,’” royal columnist Camilla Tominey wrote in The Telegraph.

When Meghan first joined the royal family, Charles was a big fan of her passion in British history and the arts, so he was a big fan of her.

Harry assured Oprah that Charles was “amazing” when Meghan first joined the royal family.

However Harry said that after he moved to North America, Charles started taking his calls.

Harry also said that his father and brother, Prince William, were “trapped” in the Royal Family.

He even claimed that Charles had used palace personnel to fulfill his paternal duties and that he had been financially cut off.

Harry’s words in the interview were reported to have left Charles “devastated”, “despairing” and “deeply saddened”.

Things deteriorated further when Gayle King, the host of CBS’s This Morning television show and a close friend of the Sussexes, announced on air that calls between Harry and Charles had become “unproductive”

“There’s a lot to work through there, you know?” Harry told Oprah.

“I feel really let down, because he’s been through something similar.

“He knows what pain feels like and Archie’s his grandson. But, at the same time, you know, of course I will always love him, but there’s a lot of hurt that’s happened.

“I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship.”
