Queen Elizabeth remains firm amid Covid Scare at Balmoral
The Queen is continuing her holiday in Balmoral after a staff worker at the Scottish estate tested positive for coronavirus.
The Queen usually spends the end of summer and early fall in Balmoral before departing in October. She often receives visitors, including the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and other foreign leaders, in addition to family members. After her stay at Balmoral, the Queen is scheduled to return to Windsor, where she has been residing full-time.
According to The Sun, the worker was sent home over the weekend when their PCR test came back positive.
“All the staff at Balmoral are tested for Covid daily and on Saturday this person showed up as positive. “They were sent home and the staff canteen and bar were shut. They’re on a separate block on the estate,” they continued.
‘We have procedures in place should a member of any team get Covid,’ a Buckingham Palace spokesman said.

The Queen is having her first summer vacation at Balmoral without Prince Philip, her husband, who died in April at the age of 99. Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew, Princess Eugenie, and Jack Brooksbank, as well as their son August, have started to join her. Later in August, she is scheduled to receive additional relatives such as Prince William, Duchess Kate, and their children, as well as Zara and Mike Tindall and their three children. The Countess of Wessex and Prince Edward are also expected to pay a visit.
Workers have been asked to wear masks and maintain a social distance, according to a source, and will continue to serve food to the Queen and her family for the time being.
In an effort to “get back to normal” following the loss of her husband Prince Phillip, Her Majesty is going about her business and enjoying the remaining days of summer at her Scottish hideaway.
Kate had to self-isolate earlier this year after coming into touch with someone who eventually tested positive with COVID-19. The royals have also been affected: Charles recovered from the virus in March 2020, while William was alleged to have contracted it shortly after. And Princess Michael of Kent recovered from COVID-19 in November 2020.
“Although Her Majesty is 95 and has been double jabbed, the feeling is she still has to be careful, yet she’s determined to carry on as normal. She does not want to overreact” a source said.
The Queen’s favorite of her six estates, Balmoral, has become a safe haven for the royals. Her Majesty appears to be enjoying a wonderful time in Scotland, according to reports. It’s lovely to watch the Queen enjoying her summer holiday, from meeting a Shetland pony to joking about tourists who didn’t recognize her.
The monarch did not attend church as usual on Sunday, according to The Sun, which suggested it was likely owing to her being tested for COVID-19 and awaiting the results.
