Prince Harry and Meghan bought domain names for Lilibet before birth
Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex registered numerous domains in Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor’s name before she was born.
“As is often customary with public figures, a significant number of domains of any potential names that were considered were purchased by their team to protect against the exploitation of the name once it was later chosen and publicly shared,” a spokesperson for Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, says.
The Sussexes welcomed their daughter on June 4, and the news was publicized on June 6.
This indicates that if the Queen opposed to the use of the name Lilibet, the couple had alternative names in mind.
“The fact they registered it before the name was announced tends to indicate that they had made up their minds and probably only told the Queen once they’d decided on it,” royals author Phil Dampier recently told the Daily Mail.

The new royal follows her 2-year-old brother Archie in having his own online profile at such an early age. Archewell, the name of the Sussexes’ charity organization, includes a reference to their son.
According to The Telegraph, among the names bought were LilbetDiana.com and LiliDiana.com.
The domain name lilibetdiana.com was bought in the United States on June 4, the day after the baby was born and two days before the official announcement.
Earlier that month, on May 31, the domain name lilidiana.com was registered.
Lilibet’s domains, unlike Archewell’s, are still inactive.
Lili was named after Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, and is ninth in line to the British throne.
“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales,” reads the couple’s birth announcement.
Queen Elizabeth’s father, King George VI, was fond of the nickname. Other family members, most notably her late husband Prince Philip, used it as a pet name, and it is believed that her older relatives, such as Princess Alexandra, still do.
Harry, who separated from the royal family in early 2020, is believed to have called the Queen to request permission to name his newborn daughter Lilibet. However, days after Lili’s birth, a Palace insider said the 95-year-old queen was “never asked.”
The 95-year-old queen was reported to be “delighted” with the name decision and felt it was a “lovely idea” to honor both her and Harry’s late mothers.
The happy couple have yet to release any pictures of their new baby, but a source told Us that the child looks like both her mother and father.
According to a source, “Lili is more perfect than Harry and Meghan could ever imagine. They are so in love with her, and she’s absolutely beautiful. She’s a cross between Harry and Meghan.”
