For her and Prince Harry’s appearance at Commonwealth Day service, Duchess Meghan opted for a bold and bright statement ensemble.

The annual Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey is one of the most significant events on the royal calendar, and one of the few instances when all of the senior royals are present at the same time. This year’s service will be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s final as working royals before their new arrangement kicks in next month.

Meghan waved to the photographers as she entered the cathedral, despite the fact that the pair did not participate in the procession with the Queen. The Duchess of Sussex wore an emerald-colored Emilia Wickstead gown with a William Chambers green fascinator to match.

She completed her look with a hunter green Gabriela Hearst purse ($1,795), nude Aquazzura heels, and $12,000 Birks Snowflake “Snowstorm” diamond earrings.

Prince Harry matched his wife’s green tie and donned a blue suit with a green lining on the inside.

The Sussexes will begin their transition into post-royal life on April 1st, and will no longer use the term “royal” in their independent branding. A new title for their official Instagram account and their impending nonprofit organization is likely to be unveiled in the coming weeks.

The Duke is said to have come ahead of the Duchess, attending an ecological conference in Scotland on February 26 and a recording session with Jon Bon Jovi two days later at Abbey Road Studios. Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance together at the Endeavour Fund Awards, marking their first joint appearance since declaring their desire to stand down as senior royals.

Meghan’s dress blew in the wind as she walked, with an additional piece of cloth hanging from the neck like a cape. One of the reasons Meghan’s attire has received so much attention is because of this distinctive element. She isn’t hesitant to step outside the box when it comes to selecting a royally authorized but fashionable appearance. Kate Middleton, meanwhile, chose to re-wear her crimson coat from the Sandringham Christmas services in 2018.

They joined the Queen for church services in Windsor, which was a short drive from their residence at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. “It was a really sweet gesture that the Queen asked them to church,” a source told People. “It’s telling in the sense that these two are still her family. And as a family, they all love each other.”
