According to a royal author who spoke on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will “never cut themselves off” from the royal family.

“The point is they will never cease to be royal,” Robert Lacey  told presenters Susanna Reid and Adil Ray.

“We will never cease to think of Harry as Diana’s son, and William’s brother.

“At the end of the day, that’s the interest they hold for the rest of the world and I think that actually is a reason for hope in the future

“They are never going to want to cut themselves off because frankly if they do cut themselves off, one wonders whether Netflix would want to renew their contract.”

Robert also thinks that the inauguration of the Diana monument will be a watershed moment in Harry and William’s relationship.

The author’s latest updated book says that rumors of a family reconciliation after Prince Philip’s funeral were false, and that the brothers had been feuding for a long time before Harry stepped down from his royal responsibilities.

The author claims that William and Harry had a terrible feud that caused the family schism.

“Apparently nothing came of it once they got inside, certainly the report that they had a big family sit-down was sadly denied by both sides,” he told GMB.

Robert added: “You just showed Gayle King, their friend, talking on television. I think the feeling was when it came to the Oprah interview, as ghastly as it was with all these family revelations being aired, that was it.

“The feeling was you can’t have a serious family negotiation if it’s going to be talked about on American television the day afterwards. This would make things a problem.”

The Sussex royals have struck multi-million dollar agreements with Netflix and Spotify after leaving the Royal Family in March 2020.

“Harry and Meghan weren’t hand-picked by Netflix because they are the most talented, thoughtful and creative voices in the room; it’s because they are two of the most famous people in the world right now,” said Daniela Elser, royal analyst for News.com.au.

“Sure, the pair probably do have a clutch of worthy ideas and are hungry to throw themselves into their self-appointed mandate to change the world, one stream at a time, but they snagged these contracts because of who his family is.

“Corporate titans aren’t queuing up to work with them because a former TV star and a retired army captain are the most exciting up-and-coming producers they could find; it’s because companies want to be able to send out reams of press releases touting that they have a real life Duke and Duchess on the books.”
