According to a source close to the US-based Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry is “really upset” that he was unable to say goodbye to Prince Philip.

Buckingham Palace announced that the Duke of Edinburgh died “peacefully” in his sleep on April 9 at the age of 99.

“Harry feels guilty for not being there to say goodbye to Prince Philip in person,” a source tells Us Weekly.

Since moving to the United States last year, Harry and Meghan Markle have been unable to return to the United Kingdom due to coronavirus travel restrictions.

Philip and Harry were close friends, and the Duke of Sussex is said to be feeling “guilty” that he was not present to bid him farewell in person.

He’s still “really upset” about the Queen’s husband’s death and wants to be with his family in England, according to a source.

“The Queen wants Harry to be there.

“Harry is hopeful that he’ll be able to return home to honour his grandfather, who he had a close bond with.”

Harry, 36, and his wife Meghan Markle issued a statement on their website shortly after the news was revealed.

The statement read, “IIN LOVING MEMORY OF His Royal Highness.
The Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE… YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.”

The Duke of Sussex travelled to England for Philip’s funeral, according to Buckingham Palace.

According to reports, he will followed Covid rules, quarantining in his former residence.

The queen, 95, informed her children, including Prince Charles, Princess Anne, and Prince Andrew, of his death, before reaching out to her grandsons, Prince William and Harry, who were both “devastated” by the news, according to a second source. “The loss was still a surprise,” the source said, despite Philip’s bad health.

Meghan skipped the funeral, and a royal spokesperson, said that she “had been advised by her physician not to travel” due to her pregnancy.

After knowing about Philip’s hospitalization in February, the former actress, 39, announced that she checked in with the queen.

“I just picked up the phone and I called the Queen just to check in,” the Suits alum said. “I just called, that’s what we do.”

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” the Palace said in a statement.

“The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”

Harry is expected to speak with his dad, Prince Charles, first to address the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s latest accusations in their interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Meghan and Harry alleged that Charles and William were “trapped” inside the Firm, and that a prominent member of the Royal Family made a comment regarding Archie’s skin color before his birth.
