According to ABC royal contributor Omid Scobie, Prince Harry will continue to leak information about the Palace until the Royal Family address his concerns. Mr Scobie told ABC’s royal podcast The HeirPod that after Prince Harry’s private communications with Prince William and Prince Charles were shared with Gayle King, there might be more negative stories in the US media.

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah, there have been many discussions and debates. It’s understandable, after all of the accusations and statements they made in front of the public.

Gayle King of This Morning stated that the Duke of Sussex had held talks with Prince William and Prince Charles after the interview, but that they were unproductive.

The decision to criticize the Royal Family through a big US television celebrity like Gayle King, according to ABC News foreign correspondent Maggie Rulli, was “unprecedented”

Mr Scobie claims that the public hardly gets “detailed insight” on what is going on. In most instances, the public learns more about what is going on when unidentified sources, such as “palace courtiers and aides,” release hints in the papers.

He described it as “refreshing” to hear someone explicitly from the Sussexes share the information behind closed doors.

“It was quite refreshing to hear someone share it straight from the horse’s mouth.”

Ms Rulli reacted, saying, “What is so powerful here is who is taking control of the narrative is changing so much.”

“The Palace is used to being the end-all and be-all of what is released into the public space.

“Now, all of a sudden, we have this powerful voice going onto major networks in America sharing what happened inside the Palace – without the Palace’s approval.

“It seems like Harry and Meghan can just call up and get their points across on a major media network outside of the Palace. That is unprecedented!”

Mr Scobie speculated that such maneuvers could continue “if we are seeing a resistance from the Palace towards addressing the issues”

He added: “This tactic may not go away for some time.

“For the Royal Family and the institution that is used to keeping control of the narrative, it would have been a jarring moment to suddenly realised they are not the only ones in the driving seat.

“I can imagine that certain individuals would have felt a little perturbed by that.”

“Meghan still feels ignored,” he said, “and that is not a particularly great moment for the Royal Family.”

Talks on hold

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were accused of ‘leaks,’ conversations with the Royal Family were put on hold.

According to The Sun, there is obvious anxiety inside the royal camp over “leaks” originating from the Sussex household.

A royal specialist has sent an alert to the Royal Family over speaking with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Angela Levin, a royal commentator, previously told the newspaper: “I think the Royal Family would be crazy to talk to Meghan and Harry.

“In no time it would be out in magazines and on social media.”

According to the publication, aides were especially concerned about an article in People about Meghan Markle and Archie’s phone call with the Queen ahead of Prince Philip’s funeral.

Five of Meghan’s best friends informed People about her life in February 2019.
