Queen Elizabeth II Spotted with Walking Aid at Order of the Garter Service

Queen Elizabeth II was seen clutching a walking aid as she posed for pictures with Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall during the Order of the Garter service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on Monday.

The monarch has been facing mobility issues in recent months, leading to the cancellation of several engagements.

Her Majesty used a walking stick made of light wood with a metal clasp and a smooth marble handle, believed to be a gift from the armed forces as part of her Jubilee celebrations earlier this month.

Despite her mobility challenges, Queen Elizabeth arrived at the service looking regal in an opulent silvery-white gown.

She held a matching silver handbag, silver heels, a blue garter sash, her garter star badge, and her bow brooch.

Accompanied by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, who wore splendid velvet garter robes, the Queen posed for a joyous photograph at Windsor Castle ahead of the Garter service in St George’s Chapel.

Due to her ongoing mobility issues, the 96-year-old monarch did not participate in the traditional procession of Garter knights and ladies through the grounds of Berkshire Castle.

However, she did attend a behind-the-scenes lunch and investiture ceremony.

This year’s Garter Day faced internal struggles as the disgraced Duke of York was kept out of sight during the procession, with a family decision limiting his appearance to the lunch and investiture ceremony.

Despite stepping away from public life in 2019, the Queen’s third child made a private appearance as a Garter knight.

Notably, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, joined the procession for the first time after being appointed a Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter in December.

Established by King Edward III in 1348, the Order of the Garter is the oldest and most prestigious order of chivalry in Britain.

It includes the Queen, who is the Sovereign of the Garter, along with several senior members of the Royal Family and 24 knights or ladies chosen for their outstanding work.

This appearance by the monarch marks the first time she has been pictured since her lavish four-day-long Platinum Jubilee celebrations last week.

However, the photos of Queen Elizabeth with crutches have sparked intense concerns about her declining health.

The image shows the frail 96-year-old standing alongside Prince Charles, the heir to the throne, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

While the Queen has been seen with a walking stick before, this is the first time she has been photographed with what appears to be a crutch rather than a walking stick.

The photo has sent shockwaves through the British public, who are already worried about the Queen’s frail health, increasing mobility issues, and decreasing public appearances.

It is worth mentioning that the Queen also pulled out of her Platinum Jubilee festivities, only making two public appearances on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Additionally, she missed the state opening of Parliament last month.
