Princess Kate made headlines last weekend when she appeared in a recognizable green outfit for Trooping the Colour.

According to fashion stylist Miranda Holder, the fitted dress was a clear homage to two of Kate’s greatest royal role models, Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth.

Although Kate has her own distinct style, she has become more similar to Diana since taking on the role of the princess, as seen in the clothes she wears.

Kate’s recent appearance at Trooping the Colour was a touching tribute to both Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth, with whom she shares a connection through Prince William.

In a custom-made green dress by designer Andrew Gian, Kate paid tribute to Princess Diana’s renowned fashion legacy.

Miranda Holder noted that the 80s structure, bold lines, and dramatic color struck out as Diana-esque traits while describing Kate’s trooping the color appearance.

Kate’s green outfit was definitely a power-dressing move on her part, according to the fashion expert.

It may have been a hint at some upcoming bolder outfits, but it was also a reference to Queen Elizabeth’s last trooping of the color during the Platinum Jubilee.

Kate’s choice of green was also a nod to her honorary position as Colonel of the Irish Guards.

The coat dress Kate wore had Princess Diana’s heyday in the 1980s written all over it with its huge buttons, exaggerated tailoring, and extra-wide hat brim.

The stunning diamond and sapphire earrings she wore were evidence of this illusion, as they undoubtedly formerly belonged to the late Princess Diana herself.

Diana’s jacket and skirt ensemble from her visit to the British school in Seoul, Korea on November 4, 1992, stood out among her green attire.

Diana wore a white and green gown and stood in the same location as Kate on the Buckingham Palace balcony in 1988 for the military event.

The Princess of Wales’ wide-brim Philip Somerville hat closely resembled the one Diana wore last weekend, who was undoubtedly the inspiration for her 80s-inspired accessories.

Kate’s costume was exquisitely tailored in true royal flair, down to the matching button on the back of the wide-brim hat that complemented her frock.

The fashion expert asserted that Kate’s green outfit was a perfect choice for the formal military event, and the gold Cartier shamrock brooch she wore on her left lapel was worn with pride.

While many of the parallels between Kate and Diana’s outfits can be attributed to royal protocol, the current Princess of Wales is unmistakably influenced by her late mother-in-law’s renowned fashion legacy.

Miranda Holder stated that the exaggerated blue buttons’ color clash was another vintage motif that the late Princess frequently wore.

Kate’s recent appearance at Trooping the Colour has once again proven her impeccable sense of style and her ability to pay homage to those who came before her while making her own mark on the royal family.

Her green outfit was a fitting tribute to both Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth, and it was a powerful statement of her own fashion sense and influence.
