The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with other members of the royal family, have homes in Windsor.

However, rumours have been circulating that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are waiting for Prince Andrew to vacate the Royal Lodge so they can take control of the Windsor Mansion.

According to a source, Kate, Princess of Wales, and Prince William are content with their current residence at Adelaide Cottage and have no intention of moving.

A source told Page Six that the family is extremely happy at Adelaide Cottage, which is a more modest residence than the Duke of York’s Royal Lodge.

The police security provided for Windsor Castle extends to Adelaide Cottage, but the lodge is considered to be outside the boundaries of this protection.

If William and Kate Wales move into the Royal Lodge, it is highly possible that taxpayers would be obliged to pay for the cost of their own security detail.

Other sources underlined that a move could prove to be an expensive security nightmare for King Charles.

Therefore, this is likely excellent news for the monarch, as the US website noted.

In light of the fact that King Charles has made it very obvious that his reign would centre on a more streamlined version of the royal family, a matter of a similar nature could cause conflict with the general people.

Late in the summer of 2022, Kate and William relocated their family to the Adelaide Cottage, located within the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The royal family has relocated their primary house to Berkshire, while they have kept Kensington Palace as their workplace and continue to use Anmer Hall as their country home.

The family’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, all attend schools in the region.

At the Trooping the Colour ceremony, Princess Kate was voted the crowd favourite, and the Welsh royal family even managed to outshine the King.

On Saturday, June 17, the royal family commemorated King Charles’ first official birthday after he ascended to the throne by participating in a tradition called Trooping the Colour.

After the event, readers of Express.co.uk were asked to express their reactions and vote for their favourite royal during Trooping the Colour.

In a poll that was live on Express.co.uk from 10.45am on Monday, June 19, through 2.45pm on Tuesday, June 20, the website posed the question to its audience, who was your favourite royal during Trooping the Colour?

There were a total of 2,041 persons who participated in the voting process, and the Princess of Wales received the most votes, accounting for 32%, 654 people of the total.

It is clear that Kate and William are content with their current residence, and the move to the Royal Lodge is not on the cards.

This news will come as a relief to King Charles, as it would have been an expensive security nightmare if they had moved.

The royal family’s popularity continues to soar, with Princess Kate being voted the crowd favourite during the recent Trooping the Colour ceremony.

It remains to be seen what other surprises the royal family has in store for us in the future.
