Prince William Filled with Laughter as Grandfather’s Story is Shared
Prince William’s late grandfather, Prince Philip, continues to bring a smile to his face.
During his recent visit to Northern Ireland, the 41-year-old Prince of Wales was regaled with amusing anecdotes about the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away in April 2021 at the age of 99.
At the East Belfast Mission, an organization that offers support for the homeless, Prince William engaged in conversation with Reverend Brian Anderson.
The Reverend shared a comical story with the Prince, recounting how Prince Philip used his straightforwardness and colorful language to his advantage when persuading politicians and civil servants to provide funding for the very building they were visiting.
According to Hollow Magazine, the Reverend revealed that Prince Philip had boldly asked, “Why don’t you just give them the money?”

but with more explicit language that he chose not to repeat.
Astonishingly, just three weeks later, the funds materialized.
In response, Prince William humorously remarked, “That sounds like my grandfather.”
Following his visit to the East Belfast Mission, Prince William spontaneously embarked on a royal walkabout, warmly greeting and conversing with locals who had gathered outside the building.
Addressing the crowd, Prince William shared, “The Reverend has been telling me stories about my grandfather,” accompanied by a beaming smile, as reported by Hollow Magazine.
After Prince Philip’s passing, Prince William paid tribute to his beloved grandfather, expressing his gratitude for the guidance and enduring presence he provided throughout his life.
He acknowledged the fortunate opportunity his wife had to spend many years getting to know Prince Philip and the kindness he showed her.
Additionally, Prince William cherished the special memories his children would always have of their great-grandfather, recalling moments when he would pick them up in his carriage, showcasing his infectious sense of adventure and mischievous sense of humor.
Prince William’s visit to Northern Ireland’s capital was part of his two-day tour across the UK for his newly unveiled Homewards project, aimed at combatting homelessness.
The ambitious initiative plans to allocate $3.8 million as seed money for six different locations, with a goal to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring.
During the tour’s first stop in Lambeth, London, Prince William shared his vision, stating, “Over the next five years, I believe that we have a unique opportunity to develop innovative new solutions and make a tangible impact.”
He expressed his hope that this endeavor would inspire belief not only in the UK but also beyond, proving that homelessness can be eradicated for good.
Prince William’s visit to Northern Ireland not only shed light on the heartwarming stories of his grandfather but also showcased his dedication to addressing the issue of homelessness throughout the country.
