A recent statement from EMI’s CEO revealed that Meghan Markle paid $300 to list her and Harry’s Netflix docuseries for entry in the Primetime Emmy Awards.

The couple’s six-part series debuted in December 2022, following their multi-million dollar content creation deal with streaming giant Netflix.

While the show initially garnered critical backlash for its bombshell revelations, it has since generated awards buzz, potentially boosting the couple’s credibility in the ultra-competitive Hollywood marketplace.

However, controversy surrounds the couple’s potential Emmy nomination.

Last year, media industry magazine Variety tipped Harry and Meghan for a nomination, but Spotify’s accusations that the Sussexes worked irresponsibly and wasted too much time and money on a failed Archetypes podcast series caused a chain reaction to Netflix.

The recent incident makes the docuseries of the duo really hard to have EMI truly nominated.

The organisers seem to be no longer interested in the couple after a bunch of scandals.

Meanwhile, South Park has been nominated for Best Animated Programme and Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance, leaving Meghan’s image in jeopardy.

To save face, sources suggest that the Duchess will defy everything to appear at the upcoming Emmy Awards.

An inside source at the Emmy Awards revealed that some celebrities pay to have their products appear in the first round of nominations.

It only costs $100 or so to put a name forward for an Emmy.

However, getting as far as actual nominations is a different matter.

Entry fees are based on the number of individuals submitted, with individual achievement entries having a processing charge of $100 per submission, in addition to the $100 processing charge.

Each entrant is charged a $100 entry fee per individual listed on the entry.

Programme entries have a processing charge of $200 per submission, in addition to the $200 processing charge.

Each entrant included with the submission is charged a $100 entry fee.

For example, the entry fee for a programme entry, comedy series, limited or anthology series, documentary etc., has four producers.

The processing fee is $200 plus $400 entry fee, a total of $600 for the entry.

Television Academy National Active and Associate members will continue to receive an entry fee discount on up to two entries.

Entry fees must be paid online by credit card by May 31st, 2023.

Entry fees, including the processing fee, will not be refunded for incorrect submissions.

While the controversy surrounding Harry and Meghan’s Emmy nomination may overshadow their Netflix docuseries, it is clear that the couple’s presence in Hollywood is not fading anytime soon.

Despite the negative fallout associated with the prince’s memoir and the couple’s bombshell revelations, the show has generated awards buzz and could potentially boost their credibility in the entertainment industry.
