Evan Rachel Wood Blasts MPAA For Deleting Her S=x Scene

Actress Evan Rachel Wood is less than pleased with the MPAA’s recent decision to cut a s=x scene from her forthcoming film “Charlie Countryman,” to put it mildly.

In order to get a R rating from the Motion Picture Alliance of America, the independent film’s director Frederik Bond was compelled to cut out a graphic scene in which a woman engaged in oral s=x with a man, a decision that Wood calls sexist and hypocritical.

The “Thirteen” actor launched a Twitter rant against the Motion Picture Association of America on Wednesday and Thursday.

The 26-year-old penned: “After seeing the new cut of #CharlieCountryman I would like two share my disappointment with the MPAA, who thought it was necessary to censor a woman’s s=xuality once again.”

The two main characters’ “love” moment was changed because someone thought it was “uncomfortable” to have a guy giving a woman oral s=x, yet the parts when individuals are killed by having their heads blown off were left alone.

“This is a symptom of a society that wants to shame women and put them down for enjoying s=x, especially when (gasp) the man isn’t getting off as well! Its hard for me to believe that had the roles been reversed it still would have been cut OR had the female character been raped it would have been cut. Its time for people to GROW UP. Accept that woman are s=xual beings. Accept that some men like pleasuring woman. Accept that woman don’t have to just be fucked and say thank you. We are allowed and entitled to enjoy ourselves. Its time we put our foot down.”

“This isn’t the first time oral s=x between a man and woman has led to controversy with the MPAA. Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams’ drama ‘Blue Valentine’ received an NC-17 rating back in 2010,” explains Variety, continuing that “the ruling was overturned without any changes being made to the the Weinstein Company movie.”

In a recent picture from the movie’s commercial campaign, Shia LaBeouf, who co-stars with Wood, goes full frontal.

The image offers a peek of the celebrity stripping down in the most recent film by Fredrik Bond. LaBeouf tweeted, “tune in, turn on, drop out – #CharlieCountryman 11/15.”

According to the organization, the drama, which is now in limited distribution, received a R rating due to “some brutal violence, language throughout, s=xuality/nudi+y and drug use.”

While promoting the Millennium Entertainment picture in New York earlier this month, Wood, 26, made similar remarks against the MPAA.

A few of Wood’s credits include the 2008 Darren Aronofsky picture “The Wrestler,” for which co-stars Mickey Rourke and Marissa Tomei garnered Oscar nominations, and the 2006 Golden Globe-nominated film “Running with Scissors.”

She famously dated Marilyn Manson and wed actor Jamie Bell from “Billy Elliot” last year.
