Dwayne Johnson And Vin Diesel Refused To Film Scenes In Fast & Furious 8

Dwayne Johnson has spoken out about his feud with Vin Diesel, saying that the two did not shoot Fast & Furious 8 scenes together.

According to CNN, the rivalry between the two co-stars began in 2016, when Johnson said on Instagram, “Some [male co-stars] conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a**es.” The post has since been removed, but many believe he was referring to Diesel. However, that post may now have some clarity. Johnson told Rolling Stones Magazine earlier this year that he and Diesel did not shoot any of their parts for The Fate of the Furious together.

First and foremost, Johnson has verified that the two men’s sole scene together in last year’s The Fate Of The Furious was the result of smart editing rather than actual filming on the same set. Throughout the chat, the actor—who still has to share a franchise with Diesel until his own spin-off, Hobbs, is through shooting—was super-diplomatic, claiming that he and Diesel had “a few conversations, including an important face-to-face in my trailer” during the making of the picture. “And what I came to realize,” he said, “Is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.”

“Right now I’m concentrating on making the spin-off as good as it can be.

“I wish [Diesel] all the best and I harbour no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have. Actually, you can erase that last part about ‘no ill will.’ We’ll just keep it with the clarity.”

Vin, 53, stated a few months ago that he had offered his co-star “tough love” to help him enhance his performance in the movies.

He said: “I could give a lot of tough love. Not Felliniesque, but I would do anything I’d have to do in order to get performances in anything I’m producing.”

And the former WWE star called his co-star’s charges “bulls***,” admitting that when he read them, he “laughed hard.”

“One part of me feels like there’s no way I would dignify any of that bulls*** with an answer,” he said.

“I’ve been around the block a lot of times. Unlike [Diesel], I did not come from the world of theatre. And, you know, I came up differently and was raised differently.

“And I came from a completely different culture and environment. And I go into every project giving it my all. And if I feel that there’s some things that need to be squared away and handled and taken care of, then I do it. And it’s just that simple.

“So when I read that, just like everybody else, I laughed. I laughed hard. We all laughed. And somewhere I’m sure Fellini is laughing too.”

Dwayne also acknowledged that despite their characters, Hobbs and Toretto, sharing a pivotal sequence in the eighth film, ‘Fate of the Furious,’ he and Vin didn’t shoot any scenes together.

He said: “That is correct. We were not in any scenes together.”

Dwayne Johnson’s next film will be the Netflix action comedy Red Notice, which will premiere on November 12th.
