August Brooksbank, the son of Princess Eugene, made his highly anticipated royal appearance at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth joined his parents, Princess Eugene and Jack Brooksbank, at the Platinum Jubilee pageant in London on June 6th, 2022.

Dressed in a fitting blue sweater adorned with a Union Jack motif, the adorable young royal could be seen happily bouncing on his mother’s lap as the celebratory procession of musicians, dancers, acrobats, and carnival floats passed by the royal box outside Buckingham Palace.

This marked a significant milestone for August, as he embarked on his first official royal engagement.

Sources close to the royal family revealed that August had previously met the late Queen at his christening and had another encounter with her just a day before the Jubilee.

Although there are reports of them being photographed together, the palace has chosen to keep these images private for over a year now.

The decision to withhold the photos came after Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, announced to the tabloids that her children had met the Queen.

Meghan repeatedly emphasized the resemblance between Lilibet and August, despite no one having actually met Lilibet yet.

However, Queen Elizabeth saw through Meghan’s intentions and took measures to prevent her from exploiting the situation for media attention.

The royal family possesses the sole photograph of August Brooksbank with the Queen.

This deliberate move by the Queen demonstrates her astute awareness of when someone is attempting to take advantage of her position.

She understood that the Sussexes were seeking meetings and photos solely for their own agenda, rather than genuinely caring about their children establishing a relationship with their grandmother.

Meghan’s desire for these pictures of her children with the Queen before her passing was evident, as it would have provided them with a sense of legitimacy.

However, Eugene and Jack were unwilling to exploit their son for this purpose, regardless of Meghan’s affection for Harry.

Consequently, Meghan resorted to using August’s single photo from the Jubilee to create a manipulated image of Lilibet’s first birthday at Frogmore Cottage.

Meghan and Prince Harry also made the journey from California to the UK to attend the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

They brought along their two children, including Lilibet Diana, who was visiting her father’s homeland for the first time.

The couple announced that they celebrated Lilibet’s first birthday with a cozy backyard picnic at Frogmore.

Interestingly, no members of the royal family were present at the birthday celebration, leading to speculation that Meghan had only managed to obtain a photograph of August’s face through photo manipulation.

Sources have even revealed that the Sussex children were not listed on the flight manifest, a legal document that records the names of all individuals on a flight, whether private or commercial.

The Harkles, as Meghan and Harry are affectionately referred to, claimed that the Queen engaged in playful interactions with an invisible Lilibet.
