BELGRAVIA star Alice Eve is used to heated, daring storylines.

The actress spoke about how she doesn’t mind undressing for roles since it’s “part of the work” of an actor.

The 38-year-old spoke to The Sun about why she has “no allergy” to showing “flesh” and why she thinks her most recent movie, Belgravia, would serve as a suitable kind of escape for viewers at the time.

Five million people watched the ITV drama’s season finale last weekend, which was set in Victorian London.

When her character Susan got pregnant after having an affair with a married man, the attractive actress captivated viewers of the popular ITV period drama.

Alice claims that she is not frightened to dress provocatively for roles.

She states: “I don’t have any aversion to flesh or showing it. I think if you’ve got flesh then it should be shown.”

“Besides, you limit yourself if you are against all that because it’s part of the job really. But it can be a bit weird sometimes.”

Alica said, “I used to be placed in parts that usually portrayed women as objects, therefore I was always portrayed from the perspective of the male.

“It was nice to have a blowout and everything but that’s not really how I thought of myself or how I feel inside,” she said.

The actress said that while she is often cast in parts that objectify women and are seen through the eyes of men, it is not how she feels about herself.

She shared: ‘As an actor, you can’t be attached to your physicality.’

“You’ve got to be willing to change it, whether it’s to gain weight, lose weight, change your hair, change your eyebrows.”

“You really change yourself. I did a film with my brother which was set in the 1930s, and I dyed my eyebrows like Rihanna from that Vogue cover recently — they looked pencil thin, like ’30s brows.”

And it wasn’t any different for her Victorian-era London-based Belgravia part. She added: “It was about an hour and a half in make-up and an hour in costume, so two and a half hours in total.

“I had to wear a corset too, and once it was on it was ON. You couldn’t really lie down and have a rest during breaks. You just had to power through,” she claims.

Alice believes that the drama, which is among ITV’s most streamed shows this year, will provide some much-needed respite from the relentless coronavirus lockdown.

“You can never predict success but it is zeitgeist, isn’t it? she remarked.

“I certainly hope we entertain, because I believe my role as an actor is to entertain.”

“I hope we give an escape, because it is not the easiest time in the world.”

“My character is a modern woman in a Victorian drama. She has the balls of a modern woman, and makes the choices we are all encouraging each other to make at the moment — bold choices.”

When she was cast as Irish nanny Erin in Sex and the City 2, the gifted actress moved to the United States.

Since then, she has appeared in a number of high-profile films, including Star Trek: Into Darkness and Men in Black 3.
