Born in Kuwait and raised in Tulkarm, Queen Rania, whose birth name is Rania al-Abdullah, came into this world on August 31, 1970.

Her parents, Faisal Sedqi al-Yassin and Ilham Yassin, were Palestinian and had moved from the West Bank to Kuwait just before the 1967 Arab-Israeli War.
Growing up, Rania attended the New English School in Jabria, Kuwait City, and later pursued a degree in business administration at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
In 1991, after completing her studies, she returned to Jordan, where her family had settled.
Rania began her professional life in the marketing sector, working for Citibank and later Apple Computers in Amman.

In January 1993, Rania met Prince Abdullah II of Jordan, who instantly fell in love with her poise, elegance, and intelligence.

Just two months after their first encounter, Rania and Prince Abdullah became engaged, and they tied the knot in June 1993.
In 1999, tragedy struck when King Hussein unexpectedly changed his successor, naming his son Abdullah II as the new king of Jordan.
This meant that Rania would become the queen consort of Jordan.
