Prince William, the future King Charles III, has recently become the rightful owner of the country estate of Harewood End in Herefordshire.

This historic property, which was partially destroyed, was acquired by the Duchy of Cornwall in 2000 while Prince William was still attending university.

The estate, comprising of the mansion and 364 hectares of land, underwent a reconstruction project three years later.

With an estimated cost of £8-9 million, farmhouses, cottages, and other farm buildings were meticulously restored to their former glory.

The intention behind this endeavor was for Prince William and his family to reside in the main building, as envisioned by his father, the Prince of Wales.

However, plans took an unexpected turn as Prince William never made Harewood End his home, and the mansion itself remained untouched, never undergoing renovation.

Architect Craig Hamilton even designed a new Georgian-style mansion for the property, but unfortunately, it was never constructed.

Now, with the inheritance of his father’s property in the Duchy of Cornwall, Prince William has officially become the owner of the Harewood End estate.

This acquisition adds to his real estate portfolio, which already includes a 200-year-old prison in Princedown.

The Dartmoor prison, located in Devon, has been in operation since 1809.

Categorized as a Category C prison, it serves as a training and resettlement facility primarily for white-collar male prisoners.

Its aim is to equip inmates with the necessary skills to reintegrate into society upon their release.

The prison complex consists of six buildings that house cells, providing a secure environment for its occupants.

Educational opportunities within the prison range from basic skills to university-level courses.
