Princess Beatrice, aged 32, is expecting her first child, the Royal Family confirmed on Wednesday.

The exciting news was shared by the official Twitter account of the Royal Household, coinciding with the third wedding anniversary of Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry, 36.

This choice of date may be seen as a subtle dig at the Sussexes, who had announced their first pregnancy on Princess Eugenie’s wedding day back in October 2018.

At that time, many felt that the Sussexes had risked overshadowing Eugenie’s special day with their own announcement.

On social media, fans were quick to point out the timing of Princess Beatrice’s announcement, suggesting that it was not mere coincidence.

Trending:

One user wrote, “I don’t think it’s accidental that Princess Beatrice announced her pregnancy on Prince Harry and Meghan’s third anniversary,” followed by a side-eye emoji.

Another user questioned the palace’s decision, asking, “Why did they choose to announce Beatrice’s baby news today?

On the Prince and Princess Henry of Wales anniversary, how petty.

Congrats though Beatrice.”

However, one Royal Watcher dismissed the notion of a deliberate move, stating that Harry and Meghan’s third wedding anniversary was not a significant milestone.

They remarked, “People crying about Princess Beatrice and Edo announcing their baby news today, on Harry and Meghan’s wedding anniversary.

Your point, Harry and Meghan literally announced their pregnancy to the family at Beatrice’s sister’s wedding.

On the wedding day.

Congrats Bee.”

Richard Eden, the Daily Mail Royal Editor, also acknowledged the coincidence in a tweet on Wednesday.

He wrote, “Interesting coincidence that the #royalbaby news was announced on Harry and #Meghan’s wedding anniversary.”

It was reported that Princess Eugenie, Beatrice’s sister, was surprised when Meghan chose to reveal her pregnancy to guests at Eugenie’s wedding in 2018.

The Royal Family’s tweet announcing the news stated, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Eduardo Mapelli-Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year.

The Queen has been informed, and both families are delighted with the news.”

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo tied the knot in July 2020.
