The series, which provided a rare glimpse into the life of the Prince of Wales, shed light on the complexities of their father-son relationship.
This intimate moment between the two royals touched hearts and showcased the deep bond they share.
During his visit to the royal estate, Prince William engaged in a conversation with Mervyn Keeling, a long-standing tenant at the South of England property.
As they strolled through the magnificent gardens, Keeling raised the topic of the future inheritance of the duchy.

Prince William expressed his appreciation for the importance of the family aspect in this matter, stating, “I’ve started to think about how I will inherit the duchy one day and what I do.”
The Duke of Cambridge further revealed that his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, have played a significant role in shaping his perspective on the future.
Their presence has inspired him to make plans and emphasized the value of family in his life.
This heartfelt revelation by Prince William deeply moved his father, Prince Charles, who admitted to being brought to tears upon watching the interview.
Prince Charles has dedicated decades of hard work to the royal estate, and hearing his son acknowledge the significance of his efforts was immensely gratifying.
He shared his emotional reaction in a clip shared by Kensington Palace, saying, “I was deeply touched and moved by what he said.
Frankly, it reduced me to tears.
It did really.
Because I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him has made all the last 50 years worthwhile.”
The Duchy of Cornwall, established by Edward III in 1337, is a private estate designed to provide independence to the monarch’s eldest surviving son and heir.
Prince Charles, as the longest-serving duke in history, has been managing the estate for 50 years.
The duchy spans 52,760 hectares across 21 counties, extending beyond Cornwall itself.
Its assets are currently valued at over £1 billion.
Prince Charles has a clear vision for the future of the Duchy of Cornwall.
His aim is to manage the estate sustainably and ensure its financial viability before passing it down to Prince William and eventually to Prince George.
The estate generates an annual income of £21 million, which is utilized by Charles, his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and their immediate family members to support public, charitable, and private activities.
It is worth noting that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Catherine, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are all beneficiaries of the Duchy.
This financial support is possible because Prince Charles voluntarily pays income tax on the revenue generated by the estate, as it is considered a crown body exempt from corporation tax.
The Prince of Wales manages the Duchy in accordance with his own social and environmental values.
In addition to providing him with an income, the estate prioritizes supporting the communities within its boundaries and safeguarding the land for future generations.
Prince Charles’s commitment to sustainability and community welfare is evident in his management approach.
Prince William’s candid remarks about inheriting the Duchy of Cornwall have shed light on the deep familial bond between him and his father, Prince Charles.
This touching moment showcased the importance of family and the responsibilities that come with royal heritage.
As Prince Charles looks towards the future, he strives to ensure the continued success and prosperity of the estate, passing on a legacy that has been built with dedication and care.
