Prince Harry left 20 minutes after Diana statue unveiling
After unveiling the monument of their late mother, Princess Diana, Prince Harry and Prince William enjoyed a glass of champagne. The two reportedly departed Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden barely 20 minutes after the event.
When the ceremony ended at 2.45 p.m., the Duke of Sussex remained for a courteous drink.
According to the Daily Mail, he was then driven out of Kensington Palace around 3.05 p.m.
On what would have been their mother’s 60th birthday, the two brothers, who are said to be at odds, stood shoulder to shoulder as they paid tribute to her.
Harry was spotted arriving at the statue unveiling at 1.32 p.m., just 28 minutes before the event was set to begin, where he was reunited with Prince William in the Sunken Garden, one of Diana’s favourite places at the palace.

The two even laughed and joked together as they met face to face for the first time since Prince Philip’s burial in April.
William and Harry pulled a green sheet covering the monument during a short ceremony in front of Diana’s siblings.
According to The Sun, it seemed like Harry and William had put their differences aside to commemorate Princess Diana, but Harry was seen driving out of Kensington Palace in a Range Rover only 20 minutes later.
The two brothers walked side by side into the Sunken Garden, towards the statue.
“Ready?” William asked as they both held the green curtain thrown over the memorial, before pulling it off in unison to show the heartfelt artwork.
The Princess is shown in her latter years in this bronze figure, which is flanked by three children.
The monument is meant to symbolize Diana’s “warmth, elegance, and energy,” according to Kensington Palace, while the children represent the “universality and generational impact of the Princess’s work.”
“Today, on what would have been our mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength, and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better,” William and Harry said in a joint statement.
“Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy. “
“Thank you to Ian Rank-Broadley, Pip Morrison and their teams for their outstanding work, to the friends and donors who helped make this happen, and to all those around the world who keep our mother’s memory alive.”
Harry may have been eager to return to the United States as quickly as possible to meet his wife, Meghan, their son Archie, and their newborn daughter Lilibet.
Her Majesty is said to have missed meeting her grandson so far since he had been self-isolating since his arrival from the United States, and she was in Scotland yesterday on royal engagements.
