Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are preparing a home birth for their second child at their Montecito house.

According to royal outlets, the Duchess of Sussex is expecting her daughter in early summer, and the kid will be the first royal to be delivered in the United States.

When Markle was pregnant with her son Archie, she dreamed of giving birth at Frogmore Cottage, the UK home she shared with Harry, with an all-female midwife team.

Markle, though, was admitted to London’s private Portland hospital once Archie was a week late, where she gave birth in the early hours of May 6, 2019.

“Meghan had hoped for a home birth with Archie, but you know what they say regarding the best-laid plans,” a source said. “In the end, her physicians told her to head to the hospital, because what she cared for was getting Archie safely delivered.

Expect no third child:

The pair has mentioned that they only want to have two children on many occasions.

In a July 2019 interview with British Vogue, Harry first announced their intentions to have two children at the most. When speaking to Dr. Jane Goodall regarding climate change, the Duke said that being a father changed his perspective on the topic.

He began, “It does make it different.” “I think, weirdly, because of the people that I’ve met and the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to go to, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature. I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…”

“Not too many!” Goodall interjected, smiling.

“At most two!” Harry remarked. “However, I’ve always believed that this place is borrowed. And, surely, as intelligent or advanced as we all are, we should be willing to leave something more for the next generation.”

At their March 2021 interview with Oprah, Meghan and Harry affirmed their intentions.

“To have any one or any two, but to have a boy and then a girl—what more could you ask for?” Oprah was informed by Harry. “But now we have our family. We’ve got the four of us, we’ve got our two dogs. All done.”

“IDone—two is it?” Oprah enquired.

Meghan replied, “Two is it.”
