Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Steal the Spotlight at Ripple of Hope Awards Gala
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves at the center of attention when they attended the 2022 Ripple of Hope Awards gala in New York City on Tuesday, November 6th.
As they gracefully walked down the red carpet, reporters bombarded them with questions, one of which caught everyone’s ears.
“Harry, are you putting money before family?”
a journalist repeated.
The estranged prince, holding his wife’s hand, simply brushed off the criticism, while another reporter asked, “Are you harming your family, Harry?”

Harry laughed, threw up his free hand, and ignored the question.
“So many questions,” he responded.
Interestingly, an online user who also attended the event shared a different side to the story.
According to this individual’s account on Reddit, Meghan’s reaction after the event was quite different.
Away from the cameras, the user claimed that Meghan exhibited cold fury towards Prince Harry.
Sharing their experience, the user stated, “I got to the event in New York City last night at 5pm.
Not very busy, maybe three actual real press and four paid paparazzi.
I knew that four of them were paid because I saw back-grid identification, and I have great hearing.
I heard them on the phone talking to someone who was informing them on which entrance the duo would enter from, and that they didn’t want to be pictured leaving.”
The user further revealed that they spoke to some members of the Sussex fanbase, known as the Sussex squad, who shared interesting insights.
One member even showed the user a pay stub from one of the shell companies allegedly used by Harry and Meghan for payment.
Additionally, the user mentioned Noel Phillips, a pro-Sussex British media personality, who claimed to have broken a story about people disliking Prince William and Kate Middleton during their trip to Jamaica.
According to Phillips, the late Queen had directly contacted his boss and asked him to back off.
These revelations shed light on the behind-the-scenes activities surrounding the couple’s appearance at the event.
When Prince Harry and Meghan finally arrived, they were 50 minutes late.
While there were some cheers from the crowd, boos could also be heard.
One person even called Harry a traitor, while others asked where his Nazi uniform was.
The user also claimed to have overheard a conversation suggesting that at the Queen’s funeral, King Charles III offered Harry a lump sum of money with a choice to either leave overseas forever or return alone in 2023.
After the event, as the couple left, two girls wished them happy holidays.
However, the user observed a stark difference in their behavior when the cameras were not around.
They described the couple as acting like strangers, stating, “If I didn’t know they were married, I would have thought they’d never met.”
A clip posted on Twitter by ITV journalist Fred Dimbleby showed a mixed response to their arrival at the gala.
While some excitedly filmed the couple with their phones, others pointed at Harry and exclaimed, “That’s him, that’s him!”
Amidst the commotion, a disgruntled individual shouted, “What do you think about destroying the royal family, Harry?
Meghan, you’ve destroyed the royal family!”
The controversial pair chose not to respond to the question and proceeded into the ceremony to receive their award for their campaign against structural racism and their advocacy for mental health issues.
