Prince George already knows he’ll be King of England in future

Prince George knows about his future as a high-ranking member of the royal family.

“George is aware that one day he’ll be the King of England,” a source tells Us Weekly. “[Prince] William’s already explained his future role to him, and he loves learning about his family in history classes.”

“William and Kate have already talked to George and Charlotte about their future roles,” a source told Closer Weekly in February, “but in a child-like way so that they understand without feeling overwhelmed,” a source told Closer Weekly in February. “George knows there’s something special about him and that one day he’ll be the future King of England.”

The young prince’s father has been cautious in informing him of his path to the throne. “As George is only 7 years old, William tries not to overwhelm him with too much information, but George is aware that there’s a lot more to being king than how the role is portrayed in Disney movies and children’s books.”

But, more like any other potential king before him, like his father Prince William and grandfather Prince Charles, George’s royal education is being placed on hold for as long as possible in order for him to be a well-rounded student of the world first, and a prince second.

Regardless of their royal upbringing, William, 38, and Duchess Kate want George, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, to maintain their modesty. The source tells Us Weekly, “Kate and William go out of their way to keep the kids grounded.  “While the kids know there’s something special about them, they’re not spoiled.”

“Stability at home is so important to me. I want to bring up my children in a happy, stable, secure world, and that is so important to both of us as parents,” William told British GQ in 2017. “I want George to grow up in a real, living environment, I don’t want him growing up behind palace walls, he has to be out there. The media make it harder but I will fight for them to have a normal life.”

Despite his parents’ attempts to treat all of their children fairly, Prince George recognizes that he is “different” from his siblings, according to a royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not training the seven-year-old to be spoiled or given preferential attention, according to royal commentator Katie Nicholl, but there is one telltale indication that he is the future king.

Katie, the author of William And Harry: Behind the Palace Wall, says that Prince George is often “singled out” by the Queen to spend more time with her.

William and Kate are “gradually introducing him to his future as a monarch,” she said.

“George is an absolute pleasure to be around and that’s down to his parents,” she added.

“They want to protect him from that moment, so it’s an idea that’s being introduced to him gradually. The true enormity of what his life will one day be isn’t something he’s fully aware of yet .”
