Paul Burrell Plans to Sue Prince Harry Over Defamation Claims in Phone Hacking Trial
Former butler of Princess Diana, Paul Burrell, is reportedly considering legal action against Prince Harry for defamation.
This comes after Burrell was accused of selling possessions belonging to Harry’s late mother during his testimony in the phone hacking trial against Mirror Group newspapers.
Speaking to GB News host Dan Wooten, Burrell vehemently denied these allegations, stating that they are completely untrue.
He expressed his disbelief at Harry’s audacity to make such claims in a court of law, labeling the Duke of Sussex as privileged and petulant.
It is worth mentioning that Mirror Group newspapers (MGN) is currently facing a lawsuit filed by Prince Harry over alleged phone hacking and invasion of privacy.

In his witness statement, the Duke has made serious accusations against the media organization.
The trial has also shed light on the role of journalist Graham Johnson, who has been paying potential witnesses.
Mr. Justice Fancourt, the presiding judge, described Johnson’s position as “certainly unusual,” considering his dual role as an investigative journalist and a witness assisting the claimants.
During the trial, Johnson, a convicted phone hacker, claimed to be a whistleblower aiming to expose press corruption.
He admitted to offering money from his own pocket to private investigators who had worked for newspapers.
The Mirror’s KC, Andrew Green, expressed astonishment at Johnson’s attempt to persuade investigators to testify in court by offering substantial amounts of money.
The judge emphasized the need to carefully evaluate the reliability of several witnesses, particularly Johnson’s case.
It should be noted that no one was directly paid to give evidence, as confirmed in court.
However, the Mirror’s KC urged the judge to consider the credibility of the evidence presented.
Mr. Johnson clarified that the funds he used came from his own resources and were not provided by any anti-press campaign group, such as “hacked-off.”
The Mirror denies the allegations of hacking leveled against them by Prince Harry and the other claimants.
The trial is scheduled to conclude tomorrow, with a ruling expected later this year.
In other news, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have recently vacated Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, six months after being asked to leave by the King.
Their remaining belongings were packed up and transported to their home in California just one day before the final deadline.
Sir Michael Stevens, Keeper of the Privy Purse, confirmed the news but did not provide further details on the arrangements.
He did mention that the Duke and Duchess have fully reimbursed the Sovereign Grant for the renovation expenses of Frogmore Cottage, resulting in a significant asset for the Crown.
However, this relocation has potential consequences for Prince Harry’s royal role as a Councillor of State.
Councillors of State are responsible for carrying out official duties on behalf of the King, such as attending Privy Council meetings and signing routine documents.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams explained that losing their UK residence means Harry can no longer act in this capacity, even though he is no longer a working royal.
Fitzwilliams also noted that this decision reflects Harry and Meghan’s disinterest in their popularity or taking on roles in the UK, as they prioritize their US audience.
This could potentially impact Harry’s ability to support his brother, Prince William, when he ascends to the throne.
