Meghan Markle has parted ways with her long-term agent, who has handled her since her days on Suits.

Nick Collins has been with Meghan (39) since she first encountered and married Prince Harry on the set of her TV show Suits (36).

He’s claimed to have been a close confidant of the Sussexes during the so-called ‘Megxit’ last year, when they left senior positions in the royal family to relocate to the United States.

Insiders have described him as a “key advisor and independent voice” for the pair as they plotted their new careers in California.

Meghan believes her friendship with Nick, who attended her and Harry’s wedding, has run its course after forging a new career direction in the US, which involves recent multi-million-dollar entertainment partnerships with Netflix and Spotify.

“Meghan insists she has no plans to act presently so he’s not needed to negotiate deals. But make no mistake – acting and voiceover offers are flooding in to the couple. Meghan and Harry have committed to a series of lucrative commercial deals, including a $100 million Netflix contract and a multi-million dollar podcast deal with Spotify, for which the pair also hired a new in-house staff.

Under the ‘Archewell’ brand, which the pair developed to house their numerous projects, a new in-house team is being hired.

The duke and duchess have recruited former Pinterest marketing director Christine Schirmer to head their public relations unit, alongside Hollywood PR agency Sunshine Sachs, in recent weeks.

James Holt, the couple’s UK public relations head who dealt with most of the fallout from the Oprah interview, will officially be elevated to Executive Director of the Archewell Foundation.

Meghan played Rachel Zane, a paralegal on Suits, for seven seasons from 2011 to 2017, before announcing her acting retirement when she became engaged to Prince Harry.

In May 2018, the pair married in Windsor, and their first child, Archie, was born a year later.

Since standing down from royal duties in March 2020, the Sussexes are settling into their new life in the United States. This summer, they are expecting their second child, a baby girl.
