Meghan and Harry’s combined net worth, according to Forbes, is $10 million, which includes the value of their current house in Montecito, California.

She and Prince Harry have landed several lucrative jobs after leaving the royal house, including a three-year podcasting contract with Spotify, Archewell Audio, which Forbes estimates may be worth $15 million to $18 million. They also signed a multi-year contract with Netflix.

Meghan’s net worth was reported to be $2.2 million in May 2019 by Forbes, based on her salary from the USA reality program Suits. The duchess earned an estimated total of $57,500 per episode in her role as paralegal Rachel Zane. She had roles in films such as Remember Me and owned her own fashion site, The Tig, before marrying Harry.

According to Money, Harry’s net worth was reported to be between $25 million and $40 million in May 2019.

During a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry announced that he and Meghan were cut off financially from the royal family in early 2020, but that they were able to survive off of an inheritance he received from his late mother, Princess Diana.

The Sovereign Grant is no longer a source of income for Harry and Meghan. The duke and duchess posted on their website that they “prefer to release this financial tie” as they cut down their positions in the monarchy when they declared their retirement. Harry had also made a living as a British Army lieutenant, earning about $50,000 per year, according to Town & Nation.

He and Meghan will also cash in on a contract with Harry Walker Agency, who also represents the Obamas, for public speaking gigs, in their post-working-royal lives. According to The New York Times, fees for each speech are projected to be $1 million, and the duke is supposed to speak on mental health and grief.

Security costs

The annual defense bill for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is expected to be between $2 and $3 million. The couple and their children need 24-hour protection. To keep their Santa Barbara mansion secure, they’ll probably need a mix of security guards and electronic devices. They’ll even require a reconnaissance squad to scope out potential destinations before they arrive. They will also require drivers to safely accompany them. They’ll still need a squad to track social media, stay in contact with local law enforcement for any possible attacks, and recruit people who look like Harry and Meghan to get the paparazzi off their tracks. This is serious business for Prince Harry, who lost his mother in a car accident in 1997 while being chased by paparazzi – who, despite being the most popular woman in the world at the moment, had her royal protective detail removed in her divorce from Prince Charles.
