Since quitting the royal family last year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been busy launching new businesses, and they may be the next famous couple to start their own winery in Santa Barbara.

According to sources, Prince Harry and Megan Markle may be considering starting a winery with the intention of “living autonomously.”

Locals in Harry and Meghan’s new hometown of Montecito are apparently optimistic that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will launch a winery.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren’t the first celebrity couple to establish a winery in Santa Barbara.

Brad and Angelina have both performed well in the wine business, as have Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Jon Bon Jovi.

‘It seems to be a really common thing to do around here, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Harry and Meghan did the same,’ Penny Bianchi, a local, told Mail.

Megan, a former Hollywood star, is well-known as a wine fan, having called her old lifestyle site “Tig” after her favorite red wine.

In May 2018, Meghan and Harry, 36, served Domain Eden pinot noir, a California red wine, at the wedding in Windsor Castle.

The Sussexes, who have signed multi-million dollar agreements with streaming powerhouses, moved to the wine-growing area of Southern California last year and could soon start their latest venture.

Penny Bianchi, a regular who resides next door to Oprah Winfrey and her $ 14.5 million Sussex home, thinks they could start a winery.

If they wanted to build a winery at their $14 million home, insiders claim the decision would make a lot of sense.

‘I’ve got a bunch of friends who have wineries, I even know a couple of people who have vineyards on their own properties.

‘It seems to be a very popular thing to do around here so I wouldn’t be surprised if Harry and Meghan did the same.

Santa Barbara County has 300 wineries, according to a study, and its busy wine scene was prominently depicted in the Oscar-winning film Sideways in 2004.

According to the Santa Barbara Vintners website, the region’s wine industry has an overall economic effect of $1.7 billion and supports almost 10,000 workers.

Meghan and Harry’s new hometown might be the ideal location for them to start their own Brangelina-style wine label.
