Meghan and Harry’s Media Empire on the Brink of Collapse as Netflix Considers Cancelling £78 Million Deal

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, could be in danger of losing their media empire as their lucrative deal with Spotify was cancelled last week.

The couple is now at risk of losing out on other projects, including a multi-million pound deal with Netflix.

According to reports, the streaming giant is fed up with the Royal Family and may void its £78 million ($100 million) deal with the couple.

This comes after Bill Simmons, Netflix’s head of podcast innovation, called Meghan and Harry “grifters” over their tattered deal.

The feeling is that the lemon has been fully squeezed, an insider told The Sun.

Last year, Harry and Meghan released their controversial docuseries, Harry and Meghan, which followed their lives since they stepped down as royals in March 2020.

However, journalist and writer Damien Riley believes that the infamous South Park episode that mocked the couple earlier this year was a turning point in their media reputation.

Riley said it’s hard not to feel sympathy for Meghan, who seems to be at the end of the road reputation-wise.

She outraged large sections of the public in the UK with her antics, but then left for America, apparently for the promise of being better understood and freer.

However, history seems to be repeating itself as she’s increasingly openly ridiculed for what is seen as evil, deceit, monetisation, abuse of social advancement, and the supposed horrors of a life of unimaginable royal privilege.

Reports suggest that the couple could sign a deal with fashion brand Dior, with Meghan as the face of the brand.

The partnership may seem fitting since the Duke and Duchess have worn Dior on a number of occasions, and Prince Harry wore a custom-designed suit by Dior artistic director Kim Jones to the monarch’s coronation last month.

However, Dior has denied any contract negotiations or talks with Meghan.

A source told The Telegraph, “the Duchess of Sussex is not in talks to sign a deal with Dior.

There is no truth to what she says she will be involved with the French fashion house.”

While there could be a way to successfully rebrand the couple, Riley believes it’s hard to imagine how that could work.

He said it was time for the royals to follow in the footsteps of the rest of the royal family with their approach to the media.

This may begin with a long period of silence and unspoken devotion to worthy causes, ironically what is expected of a member of the British royal family.

Last week, the couple’s lucrative Spotify deal was pulled after just one season of Meghan’s podcast.

Questions remain about what the couple will do next, with reports suggesting they could sign a new fashion deal, though Dior has refuted signing rumours.

The couple’s media empire is on the brink of collapse as Netflix considers cancelling their £78 million deal.

It’s hard to imagine how the couple will recover from this, but they may need to follow in the footsteps of the rest of the royal family and take a long period of silence before attempting to rebrand themselves.

Meghan and Harry’s reputation and business plans seem to have hit a dead end, and it’s unclear what their next move will be.

Reports suggest that they could sign a new fashion deal, but it remains to be seen if any brand will risk associating with the couple.

It’s a far cry from the days when Meghan and Harry were seen as the new face of the Royal Family, but now their media empire is imploding.

With the cancellation of their Spotify deal and the potential loss of their Netflix deal, the couple’s future in the media industry looks uncertain.

Time will tell if the couple can recover from this setback, but for now, it seems that their media empire is on the brink of collapse.
