The relationship between King Charles III and his son Prince Harry remains strained, according to an exclusive source.

While the monarch loves his son, he is cautious about his interactions with him and his wife Meghan Markle.

The source cites the publication of Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare, as a major factor in the king’s mistrust.

In the memoir, Harry lashes out at his father, brother Prince William, and other members of the royal family.

The source adds that Charles would prefer to avoid Harry and Meghan until he sees some positive change from them.

The king saw his younger child in May during his coronation ceremony, but Meghan chose to stay in the US with their two children, Archie and Lily.

Charles ascended the British throne in September 2022 after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Harry has been at odds with his family since stepping down from his role as a senior royal in 2020.

His tension with William remained an issue after Harry called his brother an arch-enemy in his memoir.

According to an insider, William feels that Harry cannot be trusted and is all smoke and mirrors.

Despite the rift, Charles was happy to see his son at his coronation in May.

Royal expert Nick Pullen said that Harry did not have any interaction with the Prince or Princess of Wales, but he did have a conversation with his dad the night before.

However, with the coronation over, there seems to be no reason for Harry to return to London anytime soon.

The Sussexes were notably absent from Charles’s first Trooping of the Colour on June 17.

The insider tells us that this was not meant as disrespect to the couple, but rather that it would divert attention away from the event, which is an important one for the entire nation.

The Trooping the Colour parade takes place every June and marks the King’s birthday.

The feeling among the royals is that if the Sussex team were around, it would take away from the event.

Meanwhile, William and his family were front and centre at this year’s Trooping the Colour.

The Duke of Cambridge was joined by his wife, Princess Kate, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

It seems that Charles is wary of Harry and Meghan’s presence in the royal family, especially after the publication of Spare.

The king would like to see some positive change from the couple before he trusts them again.

Despite this, the relationship between father and son remains intact, but with caution.

The Sussexes’ absence from the Trooping the Colour parade is not a surprise, as they are currently living in California.

However, their absence may be the beginning of the end for their interactions with the royal family.

With tensions still high, it remains to be seen if Harry and Meghan will ever return to London for royal events.
