Kevin James Addresses Ridiculous Tabloid Rumor on The Tonight Show

Kevin James appeared on Tuesday’s episode of The Tonight Show to clear up a particularly ludicrous tabloid allegation.

The Kevin Can Wait actor criticized gossip publications for propagating incorrect information during an interview with Jimmy Fallon.

“I try to stay out of the tabloids,” he said. “They’re 100% wrong all the time. They’re horrible.”

The 52-year-old actor then responded to a particular allegation concerning his restaurant conduct.

“One tabloid said that I make my assistant go into a restaurant before me to make sure the wait staff doesn’t make eye contact with me,” James told Jimmy Fallon. “Can we check the facts on this one? If there was ever honestly a situation when I needed someone’s undivided attention, it’s gonna be when I’m ordering food a restaurant. If I could, I would hand out horse blinders to the waiters.”

Fallon also received a (kind of) birthday present from James.

James also brought some incredible video of him and his old The King of Queens costar, Leah Remini, doing an interpretive dance for Billy Joel. This year, James and Remini will reunite on Kevin Can Wait, with Remini portraying his character’s employer.

The hilarity didn’t stop there. Later on in the program, James and Fallon engaged in a pratfall competition to determine who could pull off the best wipeout. They alternated stumbling up and down the stairwell. Other tasks included seeing who could fill a water cooler the hardest and pour red wine and meatballs all over guests dressed in white. Watch:

When he isn’t appearing on chat shows, James is hard at work on the next season of Kevin Can Wait. His former King of Queens co-star Leah Remini will have a major part in the CBS sitcom, which will air next week.

“The Tonight Show,” an American television institution for over 60 years, continues to host big-name celebrity guests and provide a forum for top musical and comic talent. Fallon follows in the footsteps of his legendary predecessors, such as hosts Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, by opening off every episode with the famed “Tonight Show” monologue. Many of the famous segments, celebrity skits, and musical parodies that viewers have come to love on “Late Night,” such as #Hashtags, Thank You Notes, and Slow Jam the News, will be carried over by Fallon, who is known for his large internet following. The Roots, who have received critical acclaim, are the house band of “The Tonight Show.”
