Kate Middleton shares new photo of Prince George to mark his 8th birthday

In a new photo published by his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, to commemorate Prince George’s eighth birthday, the little royal appears more mature than ever.

Catherine takes a fresh photo of her older son every year on his birthday and shares it on social media. This year is no different. George sits atop a car in the countryside in the shot, which was taken in Norfolk earlier this month, sporting a navy and orange striped polo shirt and navy Boden chino shorts. He also has a big, toothy, and endearing smile.

The automobile was a favorite of his late great-grandfather, Prince Philip. The Duke of Edinburgh, who died on April 9 at the age of 99, spent 16 years customizing a Land Rover Defender to serve as his funeral hearse.

In recent weeks, Prince George has made more public appearances with his parents. Most recently, the little prince attended two high-profile football events in England with his parents at the Euro Final earlier this month. He was wearing a navy blazer, blue oxford shirt, striped tie, and slacks (exactly like his father!).

Throughout the game, he did not disguise his feelings, hugging his parents in triumph and appearing disappointed in loss. When England ultimately lost the match, the little Prince’s sadness was apparent.

Prince George and his sister, Princess Charlotte, made another public appearance on Father’s Day, when they joined their father to kick off a half-marathon Father’s Day race at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate. The three waited for the race to begin and cheered on all of the competitors. As they reached the platform, George and Charlotte were seen holding hands with their father.

Similar images were released for his younger siblings Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, on their birthdays earlier this year. Middleton photographed Princess Charlotte in Norfolk for hers, and she shows a remarkable resemblance to her father Prince William.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the public has seen a lot less of the Cambridge kids in recent months. Kate even talked about how her family adapted to life in quarantine and homeschooling during a BBC Breakfast interview last year.

“Louis doesn’t understand social distancing. He goes out wanting to cuddle anything, particularly any babies younger than him,” said Kate at the time. “My children [also] have bottomless pits. I feel like a constant feeding machine.”
