Since Prince Philip’s retirement, the Royal Family has been helping the Queen in various ways.

The Queen’s children and grandchildren are expected to rally behind her in the aftermath of the Duke of Edinburgh’s passing, in a move the Royal family has been planning for years.

Officials and family members have “long had an eye” on helping the queen further in her public duty, according to the Daily Mail, and it “seems sensible to start employing this now.”

The Royal Family is expected to “step up” to help the Queen at upcoming engagements, since she is determined to continue royal duties after Prince Philip’s death.

Plans for the next generation of royals to “step up” have been in the works long before the Duke’s departure, and dubbed “Team Windsor” by aides.

The Queen has portrayed Prince Philip, her 73-year-old spouse, as leaving a “huge void” in her existence since his death at Windsor Castle last week. The pair was faithful to each other during their union, having met in the sweetest way in 1939. It’s also been mentioned that Prince Philip begged Prince Charles to keep an eye out for the Queen before he died.

As she returns to life without her beloved husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen seeks comfort from family and friends.

Many who understand her well have praised her strength in the face of Philip’s death.

Following a string of setbacks for the organization, including the retirement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Prince Andrew’s “stepping back,” the rest of the family will pick up the slack to fill the shoes of the man known for his commitment to service.

It is not uncommon to have members of the family accompanying their mother or grandmother to engagements.

She is expected to spend more time with her daughter Princess Anne, sons Prince Charles and Prince Edward, and daughters-in-law Camilla and Sophie, according to reports.

She may also collaborate more with Prince William and Kate in the future.

“The Duke of Edinburgh is irreplaceable and the Queen’s dedication to duty is undiminished,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“If one parent dies the children – and in this case, grandchildren – all step up and fill in in different ways,” another source allegedly explained.

“No single individual could ever take place of the Duke of Edinburgh, but just maybe all of them coming together will fill some of the space he has left behind.”

The Prince of Wales has also started embracing some of the Queen’s more visible responsibilities, such as setting the wreath at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday and representing her on overseas trips.

Following Prince Philip’s passing, the Queen is in a state of mourning. This will come to an end on April 22, the day after her 95th birthday.
