Chris Pratt Refuses to Take Photos With Fans
Celebrities may be aware that fans come with the territory, but it does not imply that they must meet all of their demands. One example is Chris Pratt, who refuses to pose for photographs with his fans – for a very good reason.
The 37-year-old actor reveals why he isn’t a fan of taking selfies with fans in Cigar Aficionado’s June 2017 edition. “I’ve always been a pretty deferential, go-with-the-flow guy. But now I have to be economical with my time. If I go out and want to do normal things, I have to be comfortable disappointing people.”
He also analyzed the tension of everyday interaction.
“If I go out and want to do normal things, I have to be comfortable disappointing people. So I just don’t take pictures with people. Because that’s not about enjoying the moment; it’s about stealing the moment to brag about later,” he stated. “So I say, ‘Would you settle for a handshake?’ And then they take the picture anyway.”
However, photographs of Pratt enthusiastically posing for selfies with fans in London on Tuesday suggest that his new policy isn’t too rigid.

Pratt loves his fans, but his celebrity has caused him to have a lot of problems when it comes to living in the moment or spontaneously.
“It’s tough sometimes, the amount of management you need to do on things you used to do spontaneously. What I really miss is sitting down and talking to strangers who don’t know me, so we can discover each other,” he says. “I’d say the majority of people I meet have an idea about me before they meet me. There’s something nice to being able to surprise somebody.”
The actor appears to like taking selfies with his wife, Anna Faris, 40, and their four-year-old son, Jack.
The entire family posed for behind-the-scenes photos only last week as they prepared for the premiere of “Gardens of the Galaxy: Vol. 2” and Pratt’s spectacular Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
Pratt isn’t the only one who says no to selfie requests. Emma Watson told Vanity Fair earlier this year that she, too, says no. “For me, it’s the difference between being able to have a life and not. If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 meters,” Watson said. “They can see what I’m wearing and who I’m with.”
