Cameron Diaz speaks out after n-ked pictures leak
Cameron Diaz branded the publication of hacked n-ked images of celebrities “a gross violation.”
This was just before the trailer for her film, ‘S** Tape,’ was used to accompany a leaked video of a ‘Downton Abbey’ actress on a file sharing website.
Diaz, who spoke on This Morning with her co-star Jason Segel, said the alleged hackers should be “made examples of.”
“What has happened in real life is a terrible crime,” Jason said. “It’s very easy when you use the word ‘celebrity’ to take away the human aspect that that is an actual person, with a life. The whole tabloid culture to some extent dehumanizes the idea of what a celebrity is. This is a person.”
“The movie is about a couple who has a self-inflicted technology fail, it’s a very different thing,” he added.

Diaz continued, “It’s a major violation. Hopefully whoever has done it will be caught and made examples of because this can happen to anyone. If these guys can do it to this group of people, then everyone is vulnerable to it, and I think that people really need question how they would feel if that happened to them.”
Jason and Diaz play a couple who had a tape leak to everyone of their friends and family in their film together, which is released this week.
Apple stated Friday night that the leaks were not the consequence of security breaches in its computer systems.
The US company stated that none of the cases it had studied so far were the result of a ‘very targeted attack’ on the security protocols of celebrity accounts, rather than its iCloud or Find My iPhone systems being hacked.
Jennifer Lawrence, Ariana Grande, and Victoria Justice are among the celebs whose images have been allegedly hacked, though Grande and Justice have both dismissed images that appear to represent them as fakes.
According to the source of the leak, he received up to 60 private photographs of Lawrence.
Lawrence and other hacking victims have been defended by celebrities before, including Diaz and Segel. Lena Dunham tweeted last week, “The way in which you share your body must be a CHOICE. Support these women and do not look at these pictures… Remember, when you look at these pictures you are violating these women again and again. It’s not okay.”
“Even worse than seeing women’s privacy violated on social media is reading the accompanying comments that show such a lack of empathy,” Emma Watson added on Twitter.
A representative for the Hunger Games star confirmed the photos’ legitimacy and threatened legal action against anyone who posts or publishes the stolen images online.
In 2011, Scarlett Johansson was the victim of a separate hacking incident, and the perpetrator, Christopher Chaney, was sentenced to ten years in prison.
