Prince Charles and other royals do not want to reconnect with Prince Harry over the phone or other means of contact, according to columnist and broadcaster Dan Wootton, after their trust was betrayed when a private conversation was leaked to US journalist Gayle King. After the Oprah Winfrey interview, Prince William spoke with his brother over the phone, but Ms King was informed of the conversation, which she described as “unproductive.” Mr Wootton added that if contact was made, a witness could be present to ensure that Harry or Meghan did not misinterpret the message.

Mr Wootton was joined by royal correspondent Katie Nicholls and royal photographer Arthur Edwards on True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat to address the Royal Family’s future.

Mr Wootton addressed how contact between the three could now play out after the party discussed Prince Charles’ reported two-hour discussion with his sons.

“As a result of that Oprah interview, and the leaks to Gayle King, William and Charles no longer trust that what they say to Harry will necessarily stay confidential and that their words won’t be twisted,” he added.

“So the idea is as long as we’re there together there’s another witness essentially if Harry or Meghan were to leak something to Gayle King it could be corrected.”

The Royal Family is still hoping Harry would return to them, according to photographer Edwards, but he encouraged both parties to move on because they were causing each other harm.

Following the funeral, it was confirmed that Prince Charles, Harry, and William had a two-hour chat, with Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, helping to keep the calm.

The conversation was one of their first face-to-face encounters since Harry’s departure from the Royal Family in 2020.

The Sun also reported that Buckingham Palace is furious with the “Sussex camp” after reports of private talks were leaked to the press in the United States.

According to another expert, Harry will fail to “heal the wounds” with his family since Charles and William are afraid that all conversations they have with him will “immediately leak.”

After reports of private talks were revealed, royal columnist Phil Dampier predicted that Harry’s loved ones would find it impossible to speak freely to him.

It’s believed that William and Charles spoke to the Duke of Sussex together after Philip’s funeral to avoid the conversation being “misconstrued.”

And here’s what Mr Dampier has to say: “One of Charles and Williams’ big fears is that whatever discussions they have with Harry are immediately leaked.

“They will be worried that if they get into any great detail, the next thing they know it will be out in the public domain, which makes it extremely difficult to heal the wounds long-term.”

Following Philip’s funeral, Harry spent time with his father and brother. However, it is believed that no progress was made and that relations are still tense.

Mr. Dampier explained: “I doubt if the chat they had was more than tentative first steps in trying to repair their relationships following the Oprah Winfrey interview.

“But all the same, before they go into greater detail, they will be worried that anything they say will be leaked.

“Harry and Meghan seem to have everything they could want or need.

“They have a nice house in California, they’ve got a son, a daughter on the way, they’ve got the means of making a lot of money, they’ve got a platform.

“So I’m not quite sure what it is that they want, but I would’ve thought the one thing Harry would want is to repair his relationship with his family.”
