Celebrities That Didn’t Attend the Royal Wedding

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding seems to have been a magical day for the fortunate few who were in attendance. On the guest list, there were a few surprises, but many of the celebrities in attendance, such as his old pal Joss Stone and her Suits castmates, were expected.

Even then, there were a few prominent people that were left off the list. Many of the celebrities who did not attend, including a long-time royal acquaintance, are listed below.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie was scheduled to attend the royal wedding the day before Meghan and Harry’s ceremony, according to sources. Since the actress and activist was spotted at London’s Heathrow airport ahead of the ceremony and has links to the queen, it was thought she would be invited. Unfortunately, she did not succeed.

Trending:

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding had the distinction of singing “Your Song” at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding reception in 2011. Since the show was so well received, many speculated that the singer, whose celebrity has only risen since then, could be in line for an encore.

Goulding, on the other hand, was not invited to the wedding and hence did not have the ability to sing for Markle and Harry.

Ed Sheeran

Since rumours about the royal wedding guest list first started circulating, Ed Sheeran’s name kept cropping up. That was mostly due to reports that Harry and Markle had requested him to play.

But it’s likely they were only speaking aloud. Since Sheeran was nowhere to be seen at the service or the subsequent casual reception.

The Spice Girls, for the most part

Mel C explained that The Spice Girls were never invited to appear at the royal wedding, despite speculation that the girl group would reunite for a concert. Just one Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, made the VIP guest list, and she was the ever-Posh Victoria Beckham.

Rihanna

When Rihanna and Prince Harry met in Barbados during the Caribbean tour for World AIDS Day in 2016, they became fast friends. Despite the fact that the “Crazy Feelings” singer was not present at the royal wedding, she did give the royal newlyweds some “savage” advice prior to their wedding night.

Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt, a Jamaican sprinter, has been friends with Prince Harry for many years. They’ve been pictured together, and Bolt joked that he was planning three bachelor parties for Harry before his wedding.

“I’m considering making three. One in Kingston, one in Vegas, and one in London is my plan “Back in December, the sprinter said. “I understand that this is a lot to ask, but these are his last nights of independence. After each, I’ll directly call Meghan and take responsibility for safely returning him home.”

Bolt, unfortunately, did not throw the bachelor parties or attend Harry’s wedding.

Rod Stewart

We also know that weddings aren’t just about the bride and groom’s closest friends and family. It’s also traditional for the parents to have a say on who is invited. Prince Charles, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have had much of a say in this situation.

Rod Stewart, a lifelong friend of Harry’s, was not present at the wedding of Harry and Markles. For what it’s worth, Stewart was also not invited to William and Middleton’s much-larger wedding.

Guy Ritchie

Guy Ritchie, the owner of Sherlock Holmes, was one of the most unexpected celebrity guests at the 2011 royal wedding. Many royal watchers believed that because he was invited to one, he was close enough to the family to be invited to Harry and Markle’s.

They were mistaken; although Ritchie was supposed to attend, he was nowhere to be found. Perhaps he is simply next to William, or perhaps he has broken further from the royal circle. Maybe he was preoccupied with Aladdin.

Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne and Prince Harry are said to be longtime friends. And A-listers like Margot Robbie and Suki Waterhouse have seen the Prince thanks to the English model and actress. The 25-year-old actress expressed her happiness for Harry but did not attend the ceremony.

Donald Trump

Prior to the wedding, royal reporters confirmed that Meghan and Harry would not be inviting any overseas or domestic politicians to the wedding, including President Donald Trump.

Barack and Michelle Obama

Barack and Michelle Obama were not invited to the Windsor Castle ceremony, despite their close relationship with Prince Harry.
