Since his 1973 hit “Could It Be Magic,” Barry Manilow, whose songs have undoubtedly been “first songs” at innumerable weddings, has secretly married.

Fans worldwide may delight in the news that Manilow has walked down the aisle with Garry Kief, his longtime manager.

The National Enquirer reports that the Copacabana singer, 71, married in front of around 50 guests at his Palm Springs, California, home. The artist has never come out publicly about his s-xual orientation.

It is said that Manilow informed the guests that they were attending a luncheon at his house.

A source close to the artist said that “It was a total surprise. When they arrived they were told it was a wedding!”

“Barry has lived a very secretive life and the wedding was no different! Barry and Garry did not tell friends or family that the occasion was their wedding.”

“It was a beautiful wedding and consummated their lifelong love affair.”

According to reports, the couple has been dating for 30 years.

A spokesperson for the musician last night declined to comment on the reports.

“We don’t comment on my client’s personal lives – that is all I am going to say about this,” Victoria Varela said.

A source tells People that “They have a great relationship. Garry has always been there for Barry.”

According to a source close to the performer, Barry and Garry “are dedicated to one another and have been for a very long time,” according to People.

The “commitment ceremony” was conducted by Manilow’s assistant, and Suzanne Somers served as the “best man.”

Marc Hulett, Manilow’s aide since the 1980s, officiated the “commitment ceremony” after applying online to become a minister.

The National Enquirer notes that while the longtime lovers are now both wearing wedding rings, no paperwork to legalize the union has been submitted.

Manilow has never wanted to talk about his personal life. He described himself as a “quiet man” in an interview with The Telegraph from 2012 same year.

“You can only come into my world if I invite you in. From the very beginning that was the rule. I learnt how to deal with the publicity/press thing,” he said at the time. “You just say, ‘I’m not interested in talking about [that].’ Even the names of my dogs! They are my kids, my friends are my friends and my family, they are mine. That’s the only way I can survive. I have to keep that to me. I don’t want strangers knowing everything. If that happened, that would drive me crazy.”

The singer of “Mandy” wed Susan Deixler in 1964, but less than a year later, she filed for divorce.

Despite the 30-year relationship between Manilow and Kief, he said in 2012 that he was “happily single.”
