Amanda Bynes asks President to Fire Cop who arrested her for DUI
Amanda Bynes is taking her DUI case to the President of the United States.
On Tuesday, the actress was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in connection with her arrest on April 6, when she was accused of sideswiping a police vehicle while trying to make a right turn. The arrest happened at 3 a.m. in West Hollywood and Bynes reportedly refused to undergo a Breathalyzer or drug test at the site of the collision.
Bynes was not required to attend in Beverly Hills Superior Court, where her attorney submitted a not guilty plea on her behalf.
Following the hearing, Bynes turned to Twitter to request that President Obama help in her case, sending a public message to his campaign’s account.
“Hey @BarackObama… I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.” she tweeted via @AmandaBynes on Tuesday. It doesn’t seem to have made a difference.

Despite the fact that Bynes has not been charged with a hit-and-run, she faces a minimum of 48 hours in jail and a maximum of six months in prison.
According to TMZ, Bynes was engaged in an alleged hit-and-run in Hollywood around a month after her April 6 incident. While attempting to pass on the right in her Range Rover SUV, she collided with another car. Though the actress kept driving after colliding with the second vehicle, she allegedly cooperated with police when they apprehended her, telling officers she had no idea she had hit the other vehicle.
Bynes will appear before Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Elden Fox, who ruled over the majority of Lindsay Lohan’s high-profile DUI case.
Bynes has been followed by photographers from Los Angeles for weeks during trips to different nightclubs. After her arrest in April, her father, Rick Bynes, told People magazine that his daughter “didn’t have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn’t drink.”
The Nickelodeon series All That and The Amanda Show catapulted her to stardom. She went on to feature in a number of teen movies, including Hairspray and She’s the Man.
