Tom Holland reveals he wears only Thongs under his Spider-Man suit

Thongs aren’t exactly among the most comfortable undergarments, as anybody who has ever worn one will attest. In some instances, they might even be unbearably painful. Most females understand this, but what about guys? Not much, given that the majority of guys don’t wear thongs often. Or, if they do, they’re not talking about it.

Tom Holland, the actor of Spider-Man: Homecoming, spoke candidly about his unique superhero underwear and the “serious misgivings” he had before donning them in a recent interview with ShortList.

“All I have on under that costume is a thong,” Holland confessed. “They brought them in on my first day, like, ‘Here are your thongs.'”

“I had serious misgivings — ‘Would my arsehole ever be the same again?’ — but I had to get used to it, even though I was thinking, ‘No way, no way!'” he added.

“You have to completely disrobe and then put a dressing gown on, but they’re very comfy ones, you can’t walk around in just a thong, can you imagine?” Holland continued. “And then you race across the lot to the toilet, then come back, get back into it — it’s such a mission.”

Tom revealed the inner workings of the Spider-Man outfit to GQ and said that although it’s a “privilege to wear,” it’s also “pretty uncomfortable.”

“I wear a thong. Like a jockstrap thing,” he explained. “I have a thong and a mesh underlay suit and then the Spider-Man suit, made from very coarse material, goes over the top.”

Tom goes on to reveal he has never been tempted to steal his own suit from the set even though there are “loads of them flying around.”

“I could just steal one,” he chuckles. “I should just go home in one from the set and be like, ‘Come and take it off me!’ They’d never find the hidden zips, though.”

It seems it was all worth it for the 21-year-old actor, however, who gushed to ET at the film’s L.A. premiere on Wednesday about the movie, swinging into theaters July 7.

“I’m losing my mind right now,” Holland admitted. “This is so surreal. My whole, like, last three years has been leading up to this moment, and we’re here today and I can’t believe it. I genuinely can’t believe it.”

The film documents a young Peter Parker who attempts to reconcile his bright future with his domestic life, at home with Aunt May but under the watchful supervision of Iron Man, Tony Stark.

The plot is still kept under wrap, but Holland’s Peter Parker is expected to sport a new haircut as the actor previously revealed he refused to wear wig to hide haircut from his other movie “Uncharted”.

“I have cool shaved sides and it’s slick at the back, and that’s not very Peter Parker,” he told Esquire. “He (Parker)’s a bit of a loser. So they put this wig on me that was just around the sides.”

But Holland was not impressed and fought against the suggestion – and won. “For the first time in my life, I put my foot down as the leading actor and was like, ‘I’m not f**king wearing that wig. I’m going to have shorter hair and you’re going to have to deal with it!’ ” he shared.
