Queen Leaves Lilibet Behind for Platinum Jubilee Party on Her First Birthday

In an unexpected turn of events, Queen Elizabeth has decided to celebrate her upcoming Platinum Jubilee without her great-granddaughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Queen’s Platinum Party, which is set to take place on Saturday, June 4 at Buckingham Palace, coincides with Lilibet’s first birthday.

The Platinum Jubilee holds special significance for Queen Elizabeth as she commemorates 70 years on the throne.

While the celebrations will span throughout the year, the Queen’s Platinum Party stands out as a star-studded affair.

Although details about the event are yet to be announced, it is expected to feature performances by renowned artists and will be attended by an exclusive guest list.

However, it remains uncertain whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Lilibet’s parents, will be present at the Platinum Party.

While the couple is likely to support Queen Elizabeth at other Platinum Jubilee events, they may choose to skip this particular celebration.

Lilibet was born on June 4, 2021, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Her name pays homage to both Queen Elizabeth and the late Princess Diana.

As she turns one year old on June 4, the United Kingdom will be hosting festivities in honor of the Queen’s remarkable 70-year reign.

The Platinum Jubilee will span from June 2 to June 5 and will include various events such as a derby attendance at Epsom Downs, the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace, and the iconic Trooping the Colour ceremony.

On Lilibet’s birthday, Queen Elizabeth plans to attend the derby at Epsom Downs and the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace, a live concert featuring some of the world’s biggest entertainers, held at Buckingham Palace.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced accusations of stealing the royal family’s spotlight on multiple occasions, from Queen Elizabeth to Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Princess Eugenie.

The Duke of Sussex has recently launched a legal challenge against the Home Office’s decision to remove his metropolitan police protection in the UK.

The dispute traces back to the Sandringham Summit, a meeting held in January 2020 between Prince Harry, the Queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William, during negotiations regarding his withdrawal from royal duties.

In response to the Home Office’s decision, a statement released to Newsweek highlighted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex personally fund a private security team for their family.

However, this security cannot replicate the necessary police protection required while they are in the UK.

As a result, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to their home country.

It is worth noting that Prince Harry had previously offered to personally cover the cost of UK police protection, but this offer was dismissed.

The upcoming release of Prince Harry’s memoir towards the end of 2022 also adds to the potential conflicts within the royal family.

In a conversation with the Armchair Expert podcast in May 2021, Prince Harry discussed the genetic pain he experienced as a result of his father, Prince Charles’, own royal upbringing.

This revelation follows interviews given by Prince Charles for the biography “The Prince of Wales” by Jonathan Dimbleby, published in 1994.

The book highlighted instances where Prince Philip teased his son to tears and how Queen Elizabeth focused more on her public role than parenting.

As the Platinum Jubilee approaches, the absence of Lilibet at the Queen’s Platinum Party raises questions about the dynamics within the royal family.

While the event promises to be a grand celebration, the focus will undoubtedly be on Queen Elizabeth’s remarkable reign and the legacy she leaves behind.
