Selfie Snapper at Wimbledon Accuses Meghan of Delusion
A Wimbledon tennis fan has expressed his frustration after being reprimanded by Meghan Markle’s security team for allegedly taking her picture.
Hazan Hassanov, a 58-year-old oil and gas safety engineer, was capturing photos from the row in front of Meghan’s VIP seat when he was asked to give the Duchess and her companion some privacy.
However, Hassanov claims that he had no interest in photographing Meghan and was instead focused on capturing images of the tennis players on the court.
He explained that he was trying to take a selfie with the court as a backdrop to share with his wife.
Having recently been granted British citizenship after residing in the UK for 20 years, Hassanov stated that he would have sought permission before taking a photo of any member of the Royal Family.

He emphasized that his main objective was to witness Roger Federer’s performance on camera.
The incident occurred when security misunderstood Hassanov’s intention to take a selfie and requested that he respect their privacy by refraining from taking pictures of the players without their shirts on.
Professional photographers present at the event captured the moment when Meghan’s bodyguards approached Hassanov, revealing that he was actually taking a selfie.
Hassanov expressed his confusion, stating that he simply wanted to share his experience with his wife, who had not accompanied him to the tournament.
He was thrilled to have secured a prime seat, having lined up since 5am and paid £25 to enter court 1.
Hassanov, who identifies as a monarchist, holds no animosity towards Meghan and continues to support the royal family.
Buckingham Palace supported the concerns raised by the bodyguards, stating that it is common for royals to request no photography in order to interact freely with people and activities.
The incident occurred during a match in which Meghan’s friend, Serena Williams, was competing.
Critics have accused Meghan of overestimating her own importance and assuming that everyone present was there to see her, rather than attending the prestigious tennis tournament.
