Princess Kate Visits Slow Nursing Home, Connects with Residents and Staff
Princess Kate, also known as the Princess of Wales, paid a visit to Oxford House Nursing Home, a premier Slow facility, today.
This morning, she spent time conversing with both the staff and residents, bringing joy to all present.
One of the remarkable encounters during her visit was with Nora, a 109-year-old resident.
Seated beside Nora, Kate engaged in a friendly conversation, discovering their shared love for Brussels sprouts and kidneys.
The princess was pleasantly surprised to learn that they also share the same birthday month, as Nora proudly showed her a card from the late Queen Elizabeth Eye, sent to celebrate her 100th birthday.

In the message, the Queen wrote, “You turn a year older on January 7th, just two days before mine, fellow Capricorn.”
During her tour of the family-run nursing home, the Princess of Wales had the opportunity to observe how cutting-edge, interactive technology is utilized to enhance the daily lives of the residents.
Kate even joined one of the residents, Jean, in a game of interactive football, experiencing firsthand the benefits of an interactive sensory table.
This innovative instrument was acquired in 2020 as a response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the regulations put in place to curb its spread.
While seated near a screen displaying a countryside view from a train, Kate also learned about a new interactive wall designed to assist individuals with dementia.
In addition, she took the time to get to know another resident better.
Not afraid to get her hands dirty, Princess Kate also participated in pancake-making activities alongside the residents to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.
The nursing home, which has a capacity to care for up to 34 people, provided a warm and inclusive environment for this festive occasion.
As her visit concluded, Kate embarked on a final tour of the home’s garden, accompanied by staff members and volunteers.
Since its establishment in 1980, Oxford House has been dedicated to helping residents lead fulfilling lives, offering exceptional levels of care within a cozy atmosphere.
Additionally, the home’s community care service, run by Oxford House, extends assistance to local residents, enabling them to live independently in their own homes.
Having recently relocated to Adelaide Cottage in Berkshire, Princess Kate is eager to familiarize herself with the region and its activities.
For her visit to the nursing home, she chose an elegant ensemble, consisting of a navy high-neck jumper, wide-leg pants, and heels.
Completing her outfit, she wore a long camel max and coat coat, along with a navy handbag.
This engagement follows her appearance alongside Prince William at the BAFTAs just two days ago.
On that occasion, Kate sat next to her husband, donning a striking white Alexander McQueen outfit and dramatic full-length black opera gloves.
