Prince William, known for his warm interactions with royal fans, had an unexpected encounter during a recent visit to East Belfast.

As he embarked on an impromptu tour, a particularly enthusiastic supporter crossed the line and playfully punched the heir to the throne in the face.

The incident took place behind a metal screen, where the fan extended his hand to Prince William, who reciprocated the gesture by clasping his hand and approaching him.

However, the fan’s excitement seemed to get the better of him, as he jokingly punched the prince in the face and even attempted to pat him on the cheek.

Although the exchange was likely meant in jest, Prince William appeared unimpressed, though he maintained a smile and engaged in conversation with the man.

Other fans present at the scene were seen smiling and laughing at the light-hearted interaction.

In another instance during his visit, Prince William embraced a woman while holding a union flag.

The large turnout was unexpected, as the prince’s visit to Newtonard’s Road had not been announced.

However, word quickly spread, prompting people to leave their homes in order to catch a glimpse of the senior royal.

As he left the Skainos Community Centre, Prince William decided to take an impromptu walk to greet the growing crowd.

The onlookers enthusiastically greeted him with shouts of “good morning, sir” and “welcome to the east,” accompanied by the waving of union flags.

The atmosphere was vibrant, with pensioners, children, and even dogs joining in the excitement.

Jokingly, Prince William remarked, “I’m going to be in big trouble,” after hugging Debbie Johnston, 57, before proceeding to shake hands with others, bidding them to have a nice day.

He then got into his car to continue his tour of Scotland, taking the time to hug and kiss other members of the audience and pose for photos.

Sandra Llewellyn, 73, had an unexpected encounter with Prince William while on her way to the post office to collect her pension.

She couldn’t help but express her admiration, telling the prince, “You are more than beautiful in real life, handsome.”

Norma Vance, 62, and Debbie Johnston, 57, also shared a heartfelt hug with the prince, with Norma noting that he smelled nice.

After approximately 15 minutes, Prince William bid farewell to the crowd, as he had to continue his journey to Aberdeen to launch another Homewoods project.

His visit to Belfast was marked by formal welcomes from Lord Lieutenant Dame Fenula Guy O’Boyle, Belfast Mayor Ryan Murphy, and East Belfast MP Gavin Robinson.

This visit was part of Prince William’s tour of the UK to launch Homewoods, a five-year homegrown program presented by the Royal Institution.

During his time in Belfast, Prince William met with initial members of the coalition being formed through Homewoods.

He also had the opportunity to learn about the East Belfast Mission’s efforts to address homelessness and their new housing development consisting of 240 homes.

As always, we appreciate your viewership.
