Prince William Pays Tribute to Prince Philip, Shares Heartfelt Message and Never-Before-Seen Photo
Prince William has broken his silence on the loss of his extraordinary grandfather, Prince Philip, who passed away on Friday.
In a deeply touching message, William paid tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh, expressing his gratitude for the guidance and enduring presence Philip provided throughout his life.
On Monday, William released the message on the Royal Family’s official website, sharing it with their official social media accounts, which have over 14 million followers.
Accompanying the message was a never-before-seen photograph taken by the Duchess of Cambridge in 2015.
The sweet photo captures a toddler Prince George sitting next to the Duke of Edinburgh in Norfolk.

In the image, Philip, a keen carriage driver in his 90s, smiles at the camera while George looks off to the side, dressed in shorts and a knitted jumper, holding open a picture book.
In his statement, William expressed how much he will miss his grandpa.
However, he emphasized that Philip, who lived to the age of 99, would want them to carry on with their duties.
He highlighted Philip’s dedication to service, both to his country and the Commonwealth, as well as to his wife, the queen, and their family.
William acknowledged the privilege of having Philip’s example to guide him and the lasting impact he had on his own adult life, especially during challenging times.
He also expressed gratitude for the kindness Philip showed his wife, Catherine, and the special memories their children will always have of their great-grandpa’s adventurous spirit and mischievous sense of humor.

As she will one day be consort to Prince William when he becomes king, she admired the companionship and support Philip provided to his wife.
Catherine expressed that being alone in such a position would be lonely, but having the support of a spouse by one’s side, both publicly and privately, is truly special.
