Prince William has arrived in Belfast as part of his two-day tour of the UK, where he is launching a significant new campaign to address homelessness.

The Royal has expressed his passion for this ambitious project, with the Royal Foundation allocating up to £500,000 to six pilot locations, allowing local authorities to establish innovative housing solutions.

As part of his visit to the city, William has chosen Belfast as the fourth pilot location for his HomeWoods housing scheme and will be spending time at the East Belfast Mission.

Upon his arrival at Skainos, a community center in East Belfast, Prince William was greeted by enthusiastic well-wishers.

During his brief visit, he will learn about local initiatives aimed at tackling homelessness.

Additionally, he will be briefed on the progress of the new housing development, 240, which aims to address the issue in one of Belfast’s most economically deprived areas.

Yesterday, Prince William had a busy day, starting in London before making stops in Bournemouth and Newport, Wales.

These visits were part of his exploration of different schemes that aim to assist the homeless and prevent individuals from ending up on the streets.

In Lambeth, South London, he visited Mosiak Clubhouse, an organization that provides support for those suffering from mental health conditions in the borough.

During his time there, Prince William reflected on how his visits to homeless shelters as a child with his mother, Princess Diana, left a lasting impact on him.

He shared, “I met so many extraordinary people and listened to so many heartbreaking personal stories.

Too many people have found themselves without a stable and permanent place to call home.”

In Bournemouth, Prince William met with a local enterprise that utilizes practical skills, such as carpentry, to empower individuals to secure employment and break the cycle of repeated homelessness.
