Prince William has made it abundantly clear that he does not want Meghan Markle to be present at the unveiling ceremony of the new Princess Diana statue.

The ceremony, scheduled for July 1, coincides with what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday.

Despite conflicting reports earlier this week, it has now been confirmed that Meghan Markle will not be flying to London for the event.

According to royal expert Charlotte Griffiths, William played a significant role in this decision, emphasizing his personal connection to Diana as his mother.

Griffiths revealed that William often expresses his sentiments about Diana privately, making it apparent that this was not the appropriate time to involve Meghan due to the existing tension between William and Meghan.

Richard Eden, the diary editor for the Mail, further explained that the official stance from the Sussexes is that their absence is due to the practicality of traveling with a young baby.

This news did not come as a surprise since Meghan was never expected to attend.

The focus of the day has always been centered around Diana and her sons, who will be delivering speeches.

Given the circumstances and everything that has transpired, it is unimaginable for Meghan to make an appearance.

Ms. Griffiths acknowledged that in an ideal world, Meghan would have eagerly anticipated this visit, especially considering her daughter’s middle name is Diana.

It could have been a positive branding opportunity for the Markle name.

However, given the current situation, it is understandable why Meghan would choose to avoid such a confrontation.

A source close to Meghan and Harry informed ITV that the Duchess will not be accompanying her husband on this emotionally charged trip.

Lizzie Robinson, an ITV Royal producer, confirmed this news through a tweet, stating that Meghan’s attendance had been ruled out despite claims from a US website suggesting otherwise.

This event will mark only the second face-to-face meeting between Prince Harry and Prince William since the Megxit saga unfolded.

The statue itself will be placed and unveiled in the Sunken Gardens, Princess Diana’s cherished spot within the grounds of Kensington Palace.
