Prince William Caught Sleeping During Royal Engagement
A video of Prince William appearing to fall asleep during a royal engagement has gone viral on TikTok.
The footage shows the Duke of Cambridge nodding off during the annual Anzac Day service at Westminster Abbey in 2018, just two days after the birth of his youngest child, Prince Louis.
The Anzac Day service is held to commemorate the Commonwealth soldiers from Australia, New Zealand and Canada who died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
William attended the event with his brother Prince Harry and his soon-to-be sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.
At the time, relations between the trio appeared to be positive.

However, in his memoir, Spare, Prince Harry revealed that tensions were brewing between Meghan and Kate Middleton during this period.
The tension reportedly arose due to Meghan attributing something to “baby brain,” which offended Kate.
There was also tension over bridesmaids’ dresses, which left Meghan in tears after a confrontation with Kate.
Harry also accused his brother William of perpetuating a narrative about Meghan which was being pushed by the tabloid press.
William had reportedly described Meghan as rude and abrasive during a 2019 argument.
Returning to the viral video clip, many social media users sympathized with William, attributing his apparent tiredness to the routine change of parenting a newborn.
One commenter wrote, “Bless him, all parents know that feeling.”
Another added, “It’s those moments where you have to tell your eyes to open back up.”
While the Anzac Day service was an important event for the Commonwealth, it also fell during a period of increased royal attention.
Just a month later, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in a highly publicized royal wedding.
Meghan was not yet a member of the royal family at the time of the Anzac Day service, but it was one of her first official ceremonies at the Abbey.
Fast forward to 2022, the last time that William, Meghan, Kate, and Harry were photographed together was during the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
While Harry did attend the coronation of King Charles III in May, Meghan remained in California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
