Prince Harry Relegated to Third Row at Father’s Coronation Ceremony
Prince Harry was taken aback when he discovered that the King’s personal close protection bodyguard was seated just behind him at his father’s coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday.
Unlike his estranged brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton, who were seated in the front row reserved for working royals, Harry found himself between Eugene’s husband Jack Brooksbank and Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin Princess Alexandra.
Upon entering the Abbey, Harry appeared jovial and greeted attendees before taking his seat.
He seemed quite animated, attempting to engage with the crowd as if he were attending a bachelor party in Vegas.
However, his demeanor changed when he realized the presence of the King’s bodyguard just behind him.

It remains unclear whether Harry was carrying any recording devices, but it was evident that the bodyguard had been strategically placed to observe his every move.
The identity of the bodyguard has not been publicly disclosed, but he has been seen accompanying the King during various public engagements in recent months.
Dressed inconspicuously in a formal suit and purple striped tie, the security officer blended into the crowd.
However, he was undoubtedly prepared to assist the King, Queen consort, or other members of the royal family if the need arose.
During the coronation, Princess Anne, the King’s sister, assumed the role of gold stick-in-waiting, responsible for the King’s safety.
She led a procession of armed forces personnel on horseback as they departed Westminster Abbey, ensuring the King’s security.
While the monarch’s personal security staff were present, the inclusion of Princess Anne highlighted the importance placed on safeguarding the King.
On the day preceding the coronation, Harry and Charles did not have an opportunity to meet.
Charles was at Buckingham Palace, while Harry returned to his Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, for what would be his final visit before vacating the property.
Last month, Harry confirmed that he would attend the coronation without his wife, Meghan Markle.
During the military flyover later in the day, Harry, Eugene, and Beatrice did not join the rest of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
This moment was reserved exclusively for working members and children of the family.
Fans, who had closely followed the revelations about the royal family in Harry’s book and Netflix documentary, eagerly anticipated his reaction upon seeing his older brother and father.
Unfortunately, cameras did not capture any interaction between Harry and Prince William.
